Twinkle Tower Review

A’s third birthday is fast approaching and I have been looking around at a lot of different dolls’ houses.  I had a dolls’ house when I was young and for years, it was my favourite toy.  I would spend hours playing with it, rearranging the rooms and playing out imaginary scenes and although it wasn’t a wooden one, I often wished that I had kept it.  A has recently started to play a lot more with some small plastic houses that we were given by a friend and I have been thinking that she is definitely ready to progress onto something a little larger.

One brand of dolls house that has caught my eye is Le Toy Van, which are the traditional wooden variety, beautifully painted with lovely furniture, dolls and accessories. So when Big Game Hunters gave us the chance to try out the Twinkle Tower to review, I was really keen as it would give me the chance to see what A would make of it

When the Le Toy Van Twinkle Tower arrived and A saw the box, she was jumping around with excitement and to be quite honest, I can’t blame her.

The Twinkle Tower is a very pretty painted princess tower.  What I particularly liked about it is that not only does it look beautiful, it comes with a set of furniture and a very pretty Princess Amelia Budkin doll.  Most dolls’ houses are empty, but this was great as we unwrapped the doll and the furniture and A could get to work placing all of the items in the rooms of the tower.

The Twinkle Tower is beautifully painted and when you open the front, there are three rooms inside and using the furniture provided, you can create a bedroom, a living room and a kitchen.

The Twinkle Tower is beautifully crafted but it is very well made.  A has been playing with it a lot and ‘gentle’ is not a word in her vocabulary. The tower has with stood her slamming the front closed and moving the furniture in and out without any scratches or marks appearing. She loves the Amelia Budkin doll and spends ages putting her to bed, sitting her in the chair to have a cake and a cup of tea and then she goes down to cook dinner in the kitchen.

A loves the Twinkle Tower and I definitely think that she will carry on playing princesses with it for a long time to come. The little girl in me has quite enjoyed it too and at the end of the day, I have quite enjoyed putting everything back inside and putting Amelia to bed.  From a parental point of view, I have been really  impressed with it as it is good quality and although you can buy extra dolls and furniture, you don’t have to as there is enough there to play with already.

A big thank you to Big Game Hunters, who sent us the Twinkle Tower for the purposes of this review.  All images and opinions are our own.
