Getting out on our favourite Christmas presents

We had a fantastic Christmas. We spent a lovely Christmas day with my mum and the children went out in their new bikes and scooters. R had his first proper BMX bike which he’s thrilled with and can’t wait to learn how to do some tricks. L had a normal bike, but one that is the right size for him and we are determined to get him on two wheels confidently. A had a Peppa pig scooter and although she is struggling with how to ride it, she pushes it around with fierce determination and will accept no help!

Then we arrived in South Wales to receive the usual deluge of presents from granny and grandpa. The two boys had a Flicker scooter each and they absolutely love them. I have to admit that they are pretty cool and I have had a few goes on them too. A had a purple Scramblebug which is very cool and although slow, she is pushing herself around the place on it and she loves it.

So, yesterday we went to Mumbles in Swansea. It is a fab stretch of wide pathway where you can walk or cycle along by the sea. There is a lovely park and a fab café at the end and we often drive over to have a walk and then stop at the café for lunch or an ice-cream.

Yesterday must have been ‘try your Christmas presents out in Mumbles’ day as there were a vast array of shiny new bikes, scooters, skateboards and little motorised cars to behold. We spent a lovely couple of hours with the children, the weather was quite mild and it did us all some good to get out in the fresh air after the excesses of Christmas day.

There was a heart-stopping moment when R decided it was a good idea to try outdone of the slip ways and his dad and I turned round to see him flying down the slip-way, completely out of control and landing in a heap at the bottom! (luckily the tide was out!). We rushed down to pick him up and all he could say for himself was “awesome”!

I love the fact that this year, we had less toys and more things that will get us out and about.  Hopefully, it will encourage me out of the armchair a bit more!
Happy New Year!!

How lovely. I used to live in Swansea ad made me a bit homesick for it! 🙂

What a lovely afternoon out. I laughed at the slipway incident. Mine would have done that too! Thanks for linking up to Country Kids.
