The best things in life are free!

You know how you can spend a small fortune entertaining children?  I certainly have at times, with days out, ice creams and things.  Well, last Sunday, it was such a beautiful morning that we decided to go for a walk.  Yes a walk.  We are lucky that we do live in a nice part of the world and there are some gorgeous walks which we don’t take advantage of enough.  The nearest hill to us is Bredon Hill and there are many lovely walks of different lengths and difficulty and so with the children moaning about leaving their precious electronic devices behind, off we went to climb the hill and be intrepid explorers.

It’s funny how something as simple as a walk, together as a family, can be so enjoyable.  Once we got into the open, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was such a lovely day, it was hard not to enjoy it. The children were fascinated by the views and the different things that we saw as we climbed up and nobody complained once about anything, not even the rather steeps bits!

We played, talked and walked and after a busy week, it was nice to spend some quality time together as a family and we all felt better for it afterwards too.

What lovely photos! My kids are just the same – it’s a struggle to get them out, but once they’re out there’s no stopping them! They love seeing things they don’t normally see and they have so much energy for running 🙂

Nikki, you are so right, this is my perfect sort of time out with the kids, and all free too. I love your photos and the interest on your children’s faces on their discovery walk. A perfect Country Kids post!

It can take such an effort to get them away from the gadgets but they always enjoy it when you can (even if they are relucatant to admit it at first)
