Last weekend, we went on an adventure to Thorpe Park for a Frubes Sleepover. It was an adventure that included dancing, Angry Birds, lots of exciting rides, more Angry Birds, learning all about the health benefits of Frubes and a sleepover inside a Shark. Not your usual weekend. But a fabulous weekend that we all enjoyed.
Frubes have always been popular in our house and they make regular appearances in our fridge and lunchboxes and they have teamed up with The Angry Birds Movie with special on-pack promotions offering families the chance to flock to the Bahamas for a fun-filled island holiday. How amazing would that be? The promotion runs until 31 October 2016 and there are also weekly chances to win a whole host of Angry Birds Movie merchandise.
To celebrate Frubes partnership with The Angry Birds Movie, what better place to find out more about Frubes than at the home of Angry Birds Land itself, Thorpe Park. First up was a fun quiz for the children teaching them all about calcium and why it is so important for their bodies. The kids all loved this, especially deciding if a polar bear contained calcium.
For all of the fun, there was a serious message about the importance of being healthy and how Frubes contain calcium and vitamin D which help create strong bones. Not only do they contain lots of yummy goodness, but they don’t contain any added colours or artificial sweeteners, they are gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians. This message was then taken up by Taylor from Balance Unity who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and not only did he talk about the importance of having strong bones, but he showed us some of his moves and the kids were very impressed. Then it was time to learn some moves and the kids all enjoyed an Angry Birds themed dance off which was good fun.

Next up was a trip to Thorpe Park for an exclusive trip to Angry Birds Land to try out the Angry Bird themed rides and attractions.
In between endless rides on King Pig’s Wild Hog Dodgems which we all loved and the older ones dropped 100 feet after getting a birds-eye view of the park on the Detonator, we experienced Angry Birds in glorious 4D and then learnt a little bit more about bones as we built skeletons.
Finally, we headed back across the now empty Thorpe Park as the sun started to set, planning all of the rides we wanted to go on the next day and we made our way to the Shark Hotel, our home for the night.
The Shark Hotel is the most unusual place we have had a sleepover to date. You walk in through the shark’s mouth to find shipping containers that have been transformed into adequately sized pods, containing beds and a bathroom, exactly what you need for a night before, after or between a day at a theme park. We loved the pods, they are quite futuristic in style and decor but really clean and comfortable and we slept like logs.
After a delicious breakfast, we were ready to take on Thorpe Park. If you are a guest at the hotel, you get Fast Tracks until 11am and we made full use of the time as my son absolutely loves the thrill rides at the park. My daughter and I took the gentler route around the park as there are lots of rides suitable for younger children and the queues tend to be quite small.
We would all love to say a big thank you to Frubes for an amazing sleepover, we had a wonderful weekend and now mummy is going to stock up with Frubes to try and win a family holiday to the Bahamas.
