Personally, I love shopping for clothes in the winter. I love layers, I love knits, I love over-sized cardigans and I love boots. If I could dress like that all year round, I think I probably would. My daughter is the opposite. She likes summer clothes, dresses, skirts, shorts, sandals and bare legs. When the weather turns colder, it is a real effort to get her into wintery clothes. She likes feminine clothes and light and bright colours and so the challenge for me when she starts to complain that she is cold all of the time, is to find something warm and nice that she will wear.
House of Fraser is one of my favourite stores for girl’s clothes as they have a huge range online and the clothes are great value and quality. House of Fraser is one of my daughter’s favourite stores, she particularly loves the range of party dresses (and there is always an amazing range of those). Her ideas were to buy more party dresses and just wear a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath and a cardigan over the top. That wasn’t quite what I had in mind. So when I said that we were shopping for winter clothes, the challenge was on to find some snuggly clothes that she would enjoy wearing.
Once we started looking at the selection of clothes for girls, my daughter soon found a (long) list of things she liked, a whole new wardrobe in fact.
We spent a very long time looking at knitwear and jumpers first of all and as she is into dancing this year, she preferred sweatshirts to jumpers and chose two lovely grey Mango sweatshirts which were both less than £10 each.
Both sweatshirts have a written message on and would look great with jeans, skirts or leggings, so a great layer for the chillier months.
Like her mother, my daughter does like boots and was thrilled with these Chipmunks Girls Jersey Suede Boots. Apparently, they are the most comfortable boots in the world. With a fur lining and side zip, they are really easy to put on and take off and she loves them.
So thanks to House of Fraser, we have made some headway in the battle to transform my daughter’s wardrobe for winter and we have lots of things on the wishlist too.
