Breakfast is a very important meal in our house. I mean it is an important meal anyway but for my children, it is particularly important. From the minute they wake up, they are thinking about it and whenever we go away, they want to know about when and where they will be having breakfast.
On a school day, breakfast is a bit of a rush. Some mornings there isn’t a whole lot of time in between waking up and shaking out of the house, so breakfast does have to be quite quick and easy.
Weekend and holiday breakfasts are our favourite. we have a bit more time and I can make what we would class as a ‘special’ breakfast for the whole family.
With the new products from Kingsmill, every day can be a special breakfast day and I was really excited to give them a try.
We all love toast. It is breakfast in its simplest form but even a simple piece of toast can be a wonderful thing with lashings of butter. Not only that, toast is a great starting point for older kids who want to make their own breakfast. All of my kids will now happily pop some bread in the toaster and make themselves some toast and they always say it tastes better than mine.
The new Kingsmill Super Toasty really does make perfect toast. Its recipe features a special blend of flours and the baked loaf is thickly sliced to deliver the optimum slice of delicious toast – crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy in the inside.
Designed to create perfect, crispy toast every time, it doesn’t disappoint.
The only problem is deciding what to put on it. As a family, that is a question that divides us. What to put on your toast? We have one who always has jam, one who has to have chocolate spread, another who loves honey. My husband is a jam no butter man.
And me? Well, I like marmalade or just butter on its own.
We all tried the new Kingsmill Super Toasty and it was delicious and two out of the three children even commented that it tasted better than our usual bread.
If you are looking for something a little bit different for breakfast the new Toasties from Kingsmill might be the answer.
The idea behind Toasties is to ‘Toast it, tear it, love it’. Toasties are thin, soft buns which contain different ingredients. Available in packs of four, there are three varieties; Mixed Berry, Cinnamon & Raisin and Honey, Oat and Red Berry. Pop them in the toaster and they come out deliciously warm, crispy on the outside and soft inside and you can easily tear them in half to eat.
Toasties are delicious with a thin layer of butter but I decided to try them with a little plain yoghurt, a drizzle of honey all topped off with pomegranate seeds. I can honestly say that it was one of the best breakfasts I have eaten in a long time and my husband heartily agreed. Delicious. And it only took minutes to prepare.
Toasties do make a brilliant breakfast but they would also make a tasty snack or a great pick me up for kids after school.
We were all impressed with both the Kingsmill Super Toasty and Toasties and they will definitely be appearing regularly in my shopping basket.
