Ever since we did a review of the new L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls a few weeks ago, my daughter has become obsessed with them. She had two as part of the review, she bought one for her friend and she has learnt all of the names of the different dolls and which category of doll they fall under. So this weekend, I set up a bit of an Easter hunt with a difference as at the end of the hunt, she would find another L.O.L. Surprise! Doll.
I loved the idea of an L.O.L. Surprise! Easter hunt. If you have never seen an L.O.L. Surprise! doll, it is a new collectable doll which has seven layers, each with its own surprise, giving children not only a great toy but an exciting experience unwrapping each layer. It is really easy to unwrap as each layer ‘unzips’ and my daughter gets very excited as she unwraps each exciting layer. At the end, you have an extremely cute L.O.L. Surprise! doll with a clip on outfit, shoes and accessories and some of the dolls also have an additional surprise when you put them in water.
The dolls are very appealing and you can mix and match the accessories once you have a collection and the plastic cases double as a carrier and a place for your dolls to bathe or chill out.
L.O.L. Surprise! dolls make a great alternative to an Easter egg due to their round shape and so I got to work creating an Easter hunt for my daughter which ended with the L.O.L Suprise! at the end. If you were creating an Easter hunt like this, you could add in clues to make it more exciting but I simply hid a range of treats and we did warmer and colder for each item until she found it.
The treats included a packet of chocolate buttons, a bright pink hair clip, a postcard, an L.O.L . secret message, an L.O.L. joke and of course the all important L.O.L. Surprise!
I hid a number of things around the room and some of the treats were clues to the end prize, so I left those until the end. By the time she had got the last two, she had a good idea of what was at the end and of course, when she found the L.O.L. Surprise! She was very surprised and so happy to have another one for her collection.
When she opened it up, she discovered that this was her first ‘rare’ too, so she was even more excited and quickly introduced the new addition to her other dolls.
So if you are looking for an alternative to an Easter egg this year, why not treat your little one to an L.O.L. Surprise! for a change, if my daughter’s reaction is anything to go by, it will be an exciting surprise for them to find.
L.O.L. Surprise! cost £7.99 and they are available from Argos, Smyths Toy Superstores and The Entertainer.
We were sent an L.O.L. Surprise! and the treats for the Easter hunt for the purpose of this post. All opinions and images are our own.
