This summer we were chosen to be ‘Aquabeaders’ and my daughter and I will be reviewing some of the latest Aquabeads sets over the coming months and our first mission was a very popular one as it involved Frozen. Like many little girls, A loves Frozen and was very excited when the Aquabeads Frozen Play Set arrived.
We have used Aquabeads before and they are so easy to use, mess-free and great for encouraging motor skills and concentration. The Frozen playset comes with everything you need to create a variety of designs; a bead case, design table, sprayer, layout tray, bead pen, 4 design templates and some easy to follow instructions.
We loved the bead case, not only is it really useful to have the separate compartments to put the different colour beads in but the design is very in keeping with the Frozen theme which makes it more appealing.
The 4 design templates are on two double-sided cards. You can create Anna, Elsa, Olaf, a castle and some snowflakes. You slide the template under the layout tray so that it stays in place and then you are ready to create your masterpiece.
The bead pen is a brilliant device, you use it to pick up the beads and place them in the right spot on your design. Perfect for little fingers and it makes placing the beads so much easier. The templates are easy to see through the layout tray and in minutes you can start to see your design taking shape.
Once the design is finished, you take the water sprayer and spray your design which then needs to be left to dry for at least an hour (or more if like my daughter, you are a little over-zealous with the water). Once they are dry, you can use your creations to create scenes or just play with them and they are quite robust. If they come apart again, pop them back in the tray and give them another spray.
I was really impressed with the Aquabead Frozen Playset. The Frozen themed bead tray is lovely as are the design templates and my daughter liked the fact that some of the beads are like jewels, they add a nice touch to the finished design. Like with all other Aquabead sets, you can, of course, reuse the trays and designs time and time again if you invest in refill bead packs which make the set good value (the RRP is around £22).
I was sent this set to review. All opinions and images are my own.
