My daughter is one of those children who is scared of everything. But one fear that I am really struggling to get over is her fear of the dark.
The dark is a real issue and, like so many children, at bedtime, she has to sleep with a light on. Usually, it is the bathroom light or the landing light and any time when there is complete darkness she completely panics. I have tried to be sneaky and turn the lights off once she is asleep but it is almost as if she knows and wakes up and becomes terribly upset. So the light has remained on.
I don’t mind too much. Her brothers liked a light on until the tween years and now sleep with their doors closed and lights off, so I know she will get there eventually. Personally, I hate sleeping with a light on, I can’t settle properly and I know that you do sleep better without a light, so I have tried a few different options such as nightlights and lamps with dim bulbs but she still wanted a light on outside her room.
Then the Wonder Woman Icon Light arrived and quite literally changed everything. I have to explain that my daughter absolutely loves the female DC superheroes, especially Wonder Woman. When I had the opportunity to review the Wonder Woman Icon Light from Paladone, I knew she would love it. It is really cute. Part of the DC Justice League 3D Character Lights collection, Wonder Woman is one of eight DC Comics Icon character lights. Standing at 10cm high, Wonder Woman is simple to use and acts as a perfect night light. Simply slot in the 2 AAA batteries (not included) and press the button on the stand and she lights up.
As soon as my daughter saw Wonder Woman, she loved her. She immediately said that she would use this lamp as a nightlight instead of having a light on. I was quite surprised but went along with it and from night one, she has slept really well simply with Wonder Woman at her side, no other lights and she has been really happy. It is amazing and not quite the result I was expecting when I agreed to do the review. Wonder Woman really did win the battle of the lights at bedtime and I am very impressed.
I can totally see why she loves the Wonder Woman Icon Light. It is such a cute lamp, a really lovely version of Wonder Woman and not too bright, so it makes a really good night light. But they are so colourful, it would be really fun to collect a few of these characters to add some fun and colour to your bedroom or study. They also look really good when they are switched off during the day too.
You can see Wonder Woman in action in the video below along with the other lights in the collection. They are all amazing and for a fans of DC Comics, they would be a great addition to any room. You can buy the Wonder Woman 3D Icon Light for around £11.99 here.
I was sent the Wonder Woman Icon Light for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
