Yes, I know that it really should be for ‘men’ but even though my very nearly twenty-one-year-old son is now very much a man, he will always be my little boy and I am still coming to term with the whole ‘being a parent of an adult’ thing.
With such a big birthday around the corner, I am starting to search the internet for birthday present inspiration. People often say that men are hard to buy for but I disagree, I have found some amazing ideas already.
First on my list were some cool clothes and there some great choices which are perfect for the chilled out uni look. Superdry is always a favourite as are Nike and Adidas. Personally, when it comes to shopping for the boys, I love Fat Buddha as not only do they have a really unique range of clothing and accessories but also lots of interesting and unusual lifestyle products too.
Superdry Mens City Brand T-shirt, £23 Superdry
Nike Air Zip Hoodie Grey, £60 Mainline Menswear
Carhartt Atkinson Wallet Black, £30 Fat Buddha
Patagonia Fisherman’s Rolled Beanie Black, £20 Fat Buddha
You can also finds types of trendy Swiss Wallets at MyBestWallets.
One brand that has certainly caught my eye is JOY The Store who are a unique fashion and lifestyle brand where you will find some innovative and quirky clothing for men and women but I absolutely loved their Hymn T-shirt range with bold and quirky designs that would be perfect for any 21 year old.
HYMN Banger Number Placement Print T-Shirt, £30 Joy The Store.
If the big kids in your life are anything like mine, they still like to play and my eldest son still loves LEGO. His taste in LEGO has become more focused on collectible sets now and although they come with an impressive price tag, I can see why he covets them so much.
LEGO Millennium Falcon, £129.99 The LEGO Shop
Death Star Ultimate Kit, £439.99 The LEGO Shop
Or maybe some delicious squishy marshmallows each with a special photo on.
Box of 9 strawberry or vanilla marshmallows with photos, £15 Boomf
How about something interesting for their house or room. Something fun or something to treasure, there are lots of lovely ideas to choose from. These are a couple of my favourites.
Scratch Map Original World Map Poster, £18.95 Not On The High Street
Campervan Mood Light, £19.99 Totally Funky
Nuuna Graphic Copyright Notebook, £25 Got2Jot
Personal grooming is also an area that inspires present ideas, whether it is something special for the shower, a new razor or maybe something to keep the beard in check.
Fusion Proshield Chill Razor with Flexball Technology, from £8 in stores nationwide
Braun MG5090 Wet and Dry Multi Groomer, £59.99 Argos
Dorco UK PACE6+ Men’s Razor, £7.99 Dorco
Natura Siberica is a natural and organic skincare and haircare brand that uses wildflowers and herbs handpicked from the fields of Siberia and using the latest technology, they preserve and enhance the unique healing properties of the plants. The Natura Siberica range for men includes hair, body, and skincare all with invigorating and uplifting ingredients.
White Bear – Super Refreshing Shower Gel/Fury of the Tiger – Energy Shampoo for Body and Hair (2in1) £20 Natura Siberica
How about something to read? Hired, Fired, Fled One Man’s Global Quest To Beat The Rat Race is a hilarious but very real story about the author’s quest to find the perfect job. Perfect for someone at the age of 21 who might just be about to start out on their own job hunt, Charlie Raymond’s tale starts as a keen 18-year old who travels to Africa to be a safari guide and he takes us on his journey through 14 jobs in 15 years all around the world. It is a really fascinating and funny read but also contains lots of nuggets of advice and information which will be useful to anyone in the same position.
Hired, Fired, Fled One Man’s Global Quest To Beat The Rat Race by Charlie Raymond, £9.99 Amazon
Finally, every 21-year-old deserves some fun and entertaining presents, so these are a few less serious gift ideas which are just right.
The Classic Comic Colouring Book, £9.95 prezzybox.com
Key Bottle Opener, £6.99 IWOOT
8 Out Of 10 Cats Board Game, £19.99 Totally Funky
Batman Bath Duck, £4.99 Totally Funky
What about a subscription? I know that my son would absolutely love Geek Box, a monthly box of 4-7 geeky collectables and a limited edition T-shirt in every box.
My Geek Box, from £17.99 a month

There’s some great suggestions here. I think you’ve just proved that young men aren’t so hard to buy for. I still main that 43 year old men and 71 year old men are extremely hard to buy for! I definitely can’t buy my dad a Superdry Tshirt!
I hope your biggest boy has a great birthday.
Awesome! My brother’s turning 21 soon and he’s been hinting on wanting an iPhone 7, I think I’m gonna get him something from this list instead LOL
