The diet begins tomorrow. Every time I pass by the mirror I wince at the size of my thighs, in fact the size of me in general. It is not good. I have become very good at hiding away under baggy clothes, but I know the truth. I know how tight my jeans are feeling. I know how much extra baggage there is around my middle. Tomorrow it will be gone. The lid of the biscuit tin will remain closed and nothing resembling a cake or chocolate will pass my lips. My meals will be laden with salad and more salad with small portions and healthy vegetables. Tomorrow.
Tomorrow I am going to get fit. I am going to hoist my ever increasing bottom off the sofa and I will do something that resembles physical activity. I will not get drawn into the all absorbing Internet; whilst drinking tea and eating biscuits. No I will not, tomorrow will be different. I will not sit for long periods of time watching mindless rubbish on the television. I will instead retrieve my one and only pair of track suit bottoms from their hiding place at the bottom of my wardrobe and I will walk or run or prance around the living room like a ninny. It will last for about ten minutes before I want to keel over in a heap, but it will be a start.
Tomorrow I will be the model parent. I will awake from a long undisturbed sleep feeling refreshed and relaxed and will spend a lovely day with my children. I will ignore the household chores and spend the whole day playing with them and entertaining them with a wide range of stimulating and engaging activities. I will not shout or get angry, tomorrow. I will not utter the words; “in a minute” or “I can’t do that as I’m doing …”. There will be no fighting, squabbling or winding up as my children will be fully engaged and happily sitting at my feet behaving like angels. Tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be a productive day. I will sit at the computer and actually do what I need to do. I will be focused and determined. I will not be distracted by social media and in will not spend several hours flitting from one social networking site to another. I will spend serious time looking for a job and I will do important things like updating my CV and writing job applications. No matter how many great ideas I have for blog posts, I will not get drawn in.
In reality though, I will probably have several visitations from my lovely children through the night which will make me tired and irritable, I will spend the whole day mindlessly social networking, whilst eating biscuits, shouting at my squabbling children and thinking about which fast food outlet to get tea from at the end of a stressful day.
How about you? What are you going to do tomorrow?

This is a BRILLIANT post and reflects my life completely!! Made me laugh out loud! I am always doing all these things tomorrow … but as we all know… tomorrow NEVER comes! Maybe one day… infact, maybe tomorrow!
Hmm, I think that reflects most mums’ lives (although the exercise and weight loss bit doesn’t apply to me!). Tomorrow I will be watching my kids play endless sport and listening to them argue because they are tired/ hungry/ thirsty. I will moan about household chores. I will try to hide the fact that I am tweeting/ blogging from my family. And I might watch XFactor!
I will do all those things too. Tomorrow. (bursts into Annie song…..gets slapped by everyone…..stops singing)
That sounds exactly like me. Tomorrow really doesn’t ever come!
We all feel like that and yes tomorrow is another day x
This is great Nicola! I think this is how I feel most days, in fact I think we all do!
I’ve realised today (typical for a friday!) that I have my routine the wrong way round so, tomorrow I will adjust it. My writing will be done in the morning and the chores in the afternoon. Hopefully that will work better than it has been these past two weeks.
However, like you, I will spend most of the day sorting out squabbles and doing chores in the hope that tomorrow will be different. Of course it won’t be. But like HonestMum says… Tomorrow is another day x
Tomorrow I’m going to a wedding reception and drinking lots lol. I walked to school today – I blame these other mother’s – all walking, going the gym and other healthy stuff. Wont be doing that again – 5 year old got hit by my brother-in-law on his bike – went right over him and hurt his face. So let’s say sometimes it’s better not to be healthy lol.
Good luck with yours though.
Whenever I plan for tomorrow, something always happens to put pay to my plans. I’m starting to think I should stop planning for tomorrow!
Tomorrow I’m going to do all of that with you. Well, maybe Monday. Tomorrow’s not a good day to start 😉
Your tomorrow sounds a bit like mine, except I’ve got one toddler who has the energy and strength for two.
I’ll spend some time shaking my over-sized pregnant bum to CBeebies songs with him, and trying to get him to say ‘sorry’ for what ever little misdemeanor he’s committed during the day
Tomorrow is of course another day…
I have that written on every day of my personal organiser so no wonder I’m so disorganised although sometimes I have little bursts of productivity – generally it’s in a minute, later, tomorrow, soon. xx
