Every now and then, you receive a product to review that you instantly know is going to be really useful and make a difference in your house. The Bed Bumper from Purple Daisies is definitely one of those products. It is simple, effective and brilliant.

A’s bedroom is pink and very girlie. She loves her bedroom and always has. She has always happily gone to bed and generally sleeps well and has never seemed worried about her bed guard.
She had inherited a blue bed guard from her two older brothers. It worked fine, but it was blue. I tried to explain to my husband that it would be much better to have a pink one, to fit in with everything else in the room. His suggestion was to paint it! He pointed out to me that there was nothing wrong with it and that we didn’t need to change it.
So when I had the chance to review the Bed Bumper, I was really excited to be getting rid of ‘big blue’ for something new. When it arrived, I did look at it briefly and wonder if it was going to work. It is such a simple concept; a 100cm foam wedge that lies beneath the sheet about 5 cm from the edge of the mattress.
It is made out of cream polyurethane foam and has a non-slip texture to keep it firmly in place. Apart from the simplicity of the Bed Bumper, it makes A feel more like she is in a ‘big girl bed’ and she can get in and out of the bed more easily. It also makes a good head rest when she is listening to her bed time stories.
I would whole heartedly recommend this product, I think it is brilliant and at a cost of £10.99 for the 100cm Bed Bumper, it is also excellent value for money. There are different sizes available and you can also buy twin packs if you need protection on both sides of the bed.

Interesting product – better than the big guards. Guess it allows you to buy an ordinary single and take the guards off later.
What a great idea – I am going to look into it for Cian as I’ve not used a guard rail but instead a heap of cushions on the floor and often find him on top of them in the morning. xx
I bought this bed bumper last month after I read this post! My little sister liked it because the problem of falling on the floor every night is not her problem anymore. Thanks for the review.
