When we receive a box of goodies from Yellow Moon, I’m not sure if I am more excited than the children. I have made no secret of the fact that I am one of their biggest fans and have been for many years. If you have never visited the Yellow Moon website I really cannot recommend it enough whether you are looking for craft ideas or materials, party bag ideas or even gifts, there is a huge range at amazing prices.
This box did not disappoint and it was lovely to find lots of new things in there that we have never used before. So let me tell you what we had and what we thought of it.
The first thing that caught A’s eye was the Neon Nail Art Kit. She really loves having her nails painted and although this has only happened a couple of times over the summer, I am amazed how well she sits to have them done. The Neon Nail Art Kit contains two pens which have a micro nib for decorating, a brush for painting and a special compartment containing gems to decorate. It is quite fiddly and she is probably a little bit young for this at the moment but we had fun making flower patterns and I would use it if she was going to a party or somewhere special.
Still on the girly theme, one of our favourite products was the Glisten Up Tattoos. I have never seen anything like this before and it is really simple to use and very effective. You have lots of different designs to choose from and you cut out the one you want, stick it on to your arm, remove the plastic backing and the sticky design remains. You then take the brush and brush on the glitter and it sticks, creating really lovely sparkly tattoos. Both A and I loved this and we had mother and daughter glitter tattoos for the rest of the week.
We also received a pack of Novelty Tattoos, which reminded me of the ones I had as a kid only better. This pack contains 24 assorted designs and there are tattoos suitable for boys and girls. They are really easy to put on and wash off easily too. A loved these and we are slowly working our way through the collection. These would be great for parties or party bags.
Each book is made up of half colouring pages and half activity pages which include word searches, cross words and mazes. These would be great to keep in you bag too with some pencils to keep kids amused in the car or if you are out some where and you needed to sit and wait for something.

Balloons are always popular in this house. They are great for playing games with or for using as weapons so we were quite excited to receive the balloon hat kit. Now I have to say that we did have a go at this the other day and I still have a way to go before I am able to make the actual hats.
The kit contains 24 modelling balloons, a pump and instructions to make a number of different hats. A and I had great fun blowing up the balloons and hitting each other with them but I still haven’t managed perfect the art of making the hats as it is harder than it looks. I will get there though and the kit is a great idea and would be great for a children’s party.
Finally, we were sent sent a design a gift bag set. This contains 12 strong medium sized white paper bags with handles and the idea is that you decorate them yourself with craft foam, stickers, pens or whatever you fancy. We haven’t got around to this yet, but I know that A and the boys will enjoy decorating these for people when we have our next run of birthdays in the house. I also thought that these would be excellent party bags and you could get the children to decorate their own as a party activity.
As always I would like to say a huge thank you to the lovely people at Yellow Moon for sending this amazing box of goodies, we have had great fun working our way through the box and if you haven’t ever visited the Yellow Moon website before, what are you waiting for …
