We forget sometime that we are country bumpkins. We live in a smallish town that borders the Cotswolds and although we are surrounded by hills and fields and quaint little villages, it is only when we go to a city that we realize how rural where we live really is.
It was a lovely weekend, but it was nice to come home to the slower paced life in the ‘country’.

Fantastic photos! Glad you all had such a good time. We love a visit to London 🙂
My two are desperate for the trip to London and I know I am going to have to be so well planned – military operation style. I also like your comparison of life – we are looking ahead to where we might move to, I fancy a lg village south of a big city near here but the OH wants the fancy town life of a rather touristy expensive city nearby!! The battle continues 😉 Love the pics x
What lovely weather you had while you were there! My kids love visiting London too, but you’re right, planning is required!
wow i would love to do this trip with the kids. looks like you had an amazing time x
We haven’t done the hop on hop off bus with bob yet. I’m sure she’ll love it as she loves buses. Lovely photos! The one of the London Eye is brilliant! x
Sometimes we get so used to where we live we forget how special it is. I’m always complaining about london – mainly the busyness! I see big ben and the london eye out of the window at work, and at first I was like ‘this view is amazing’ and now I’m like ‘meh, boring.’ It’s nice to see it through the eyes of others sometimes 🙂 Glad you all enjoyed your trip – have you been to the museums yet? The science museum is amazing for children of all ages! xx
I love, love, love the city …. providing I can come home to the countryside after a couple of days. You’re right the pace can be immense and you’re almost swept up in the whirlwind. London is such a cool city though. I’ve not been for a couple of years and I miss it.
Lovely photos! I love London, lived there for nearly ten years, and I love going back to visit. Haven’t been for ages, would love to take the kids! Glad you had such a good weekend 🙂
awesome pics! you got up to a lot in half term!!
Glad you had a great weekend – and no trip to London would have been complete without a visit to M&M World 🙂
Looks like they had a fab time in the big city. I find London quite a contrast for me too even though I’m used to city life.
It is lovely to visit the big smoke and I can see how much fun you had being tourists, but, like you we find that it’s lovely for a few days but great to get home to the country. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
Great to have the best of both worlds!
Such a beautiful place for getting outdoors in 😉
Love your photos!! xx
