How is it June already? Here is a round-up review of things we are loving right now;
Who is Om Nom? Well he is the very cute character from Cut the Rope and he is rather popular in our house at the moment thanks to a special delivery of Om Nom and Cut the Rope goodies that arrived a couple of weeks ago. Cut the Rope is one of the first apps that the boys ever played on and even A recognised Om Nom straight away from the game which hit the 500 million download mark last month. If you have never played Cut the Rope, you meet Om Nom and the Nommies and it is a strategy game where you have to swipe the rope to cut the candy free to feed the ever hungry Om Nom. Each level gives you new obstacles to play with such as balloons and bubbles and each time, you have to try and work out the quickest way to get the candy to Om Nom. It is a fun game and extremely addictive.
The eagerly awaited Cut the Rope 2 was released on IOS last year and has just been released on Android and we were lucky enough to have been able to try the new game for ourselves. I can assure you that it is just as addictive as the original and has 120 levels with new features such as an additional ‘fruit’ mission for every level, an interactive map for exploring locations and visualising progress and new in-game power-ups, hints and customizations. It has proven to be a big hit in this house and we have all been playing to see who can get the furthest. I would like to say it is me, but sadly I am way behind my children as always.
The popularity of Om Nom has been such that a whole range of toys and merchandise has been produced and Om Nom even has his own TV series; Om Nom Stories. The merchandise ranges from T-shirts to cuddly toys, lunch boxes to figures. We were sent a bag of Om Nom goodies and A is over the moon with Talking Om Nom who has gone everywhere with her since his arrival. He is very soft and when you squeeze him he makes funny noises. He is very cute and it is quite hard to resist giving him a little squeeze. He also survived a spin in the washing machine and is still talking which I was very relieved about.
A has also claimed the lunchbox and drink bottle as her own too and has decided that they will be perfect for her to start school with in September.
The boys were very happy with the game as computer games are their ‘thing’ but they rather liked the collectable figurines; Nommies, that contain two small figurines in each bag. The boys love these collectable figures and have vowed to collect more figures to add to the collection.
I was also very impressed with the Cut the Rope T-shirt that we were sent, R was quick to commandeer it and it looked really good on him.
Cut the Rope 2 is a fun game for kids (and adults) and I know that my children would definitely recommend it. The merchandise is all bright, fun and appealing and I was impressed by the quality. If you want more information you can;

Back To Your Roots
This amazing little recipe book is my final book from Parragon as part of their Book Buddies scheme and I have very much enjoyed receiving monthly recipe books to review from them Back To Your Roots is my kind of recipe book as it is packed full of delicious recipes for root vegetables.
This really is my kind of recipe book and has the most wonderful collection of recipes that offer everything from comfort food to side dishes. Potato, carrot, swede, celeriac, beetroot, parsnip. artichoke, radish, turnip and yam all feature in this book which like all of the Parragon Love Food collection is beautifully presented.
With recipes like sweet potato and apple soup, potato and sweetcorn fritters, beetroot burgers, root vegetable fries and parsnip layered casserole, there is something for everyone and I have honestly never seen such a great range of recipes for root vegetables and there are lots of things that I would never have even considered. This is a recipe book that I know will be well used.
If I had more time, I would spend a lot more time thinking about how I care for my skin and the make up I wear, but being a busy mum means that realistically, I don’t have time and so I have a few tried and tested beauty and make up products that I swear by. I often read about new products and then forget about them so the idea of Glossy Box has always appealed to me.
Glossy Box is a monthly beauty subscription service and for £10 (less if you sign up for 3, 6 or twelve months) plus postage and packaging and you receive a beautifully presented box containing at least beauty samples. Each box contains a magazine and a leaflet containing information and RRP of the items included. It is a lovely idea and ideal for you if you like trying new things or like me, you don’t have the time or the money to constantly shop for new products. I have been considering it for a while and then I read a post on one of my favourite blogs; The Ana Mum Diary a couple of weeks ago which made up my mind. Within three days my box arrived and it was so lovely to have a box of treats that are all for me.
This months box was filled with products from Superdrug and there were some really useful products in there which I love and I am already looking forward to the next box which will arrive in the middle of the month. This is a lovely treat and would make a fantastic gift too. To find out more about Glossy Box, take a look at their website.

The meal took around fifteen minutes to prepare and it was really delicious.

The Cut the Rope 2 merchandise and game download, Our little secret samples and Back to your Roots recipe book were all sent free of charge for the purpose of review. I am paying for the Glossy Box subscription. All images and opinions are my own.
