It is not very often that I post a craft activity as I am not really a crafty person but this year, I have been inspired to make more things for Christmas rather than buying as I love giving things that are home-made and always try and do at least home-made cards from the children. This year, I had the idea of using bubble wrap to do some printed shapes. I bought a roll of brown paper and some new paint and set to work
Cutting the shapes out of bubble wrap was the hardest bit, in the end I drew the shapes with a black marker pen and that seemed to work. A and I glued the bubble wrap (flat side down) to four pieces of card and that was our stampready to use.
A did most of the hard work, we chose the colours for each shape and painted a good layer of paint onto each shape and then got busy stamping. As it was Christmas, A insisted on covering each shape with a layer of silver glitter and that actually worked really well.
A had a great time printing and we were both pleased with the end result.
Then we chose our favourite shape for the Christmas cards; the Christmas tree. We printed the shape onto white cards and of course added glitter. Once dry, A did some finger painting on to the print as decorations.
This is a lovely activity to do with the children and I think that the cards and the wrapping paper are really cute and festive.
