National Stationery Week is quite possibly my idea of heaven. A week in celebration of all things stationery is a brilliant excuse to try out, buy and drool over new pens, pencils, notebooks and so many other lovely things.
National Stationery Week is taking place between 31st March and 6th April and the aim is to get people writing. Writing seems to have come under attack lately and by writing I mean putting pen to paper. There is no doubt that in this digital age, many people turn do to the keyboard but there are still lots who are writing for real. Everywhere you look, there are amazing ranges of stationery and trust me when I tell you that as I am a bit of an expert in this field. This year, National Stationery Week is hoping to encourage everyone to pick up their pens and get writing; adults and children and as parents I think we can set such a great example to our children by letting them see us writing and by encouraging them to do the same.
One such brand is Kokuyo which is Japan’s leading stationery brand. with innovative ideas, bright colours and interesting products, Kokuyo have a range of products that would easily fit into your home or office.
My absolute favourite Kokuyo product is the staple free stapler that has just been launched in the UK. What a brilliant idea? Having accidentally stapled my hand when I was younger, it is not something that I would recommend and it makes me very wary of my kids using a stapler but this clever little stapler cuts a small slit into the paper and binds several pieces of paper together securely. Not only is there no risk of small hands or fingers getting hurt, but there is also the advantage of not running out of staples.
We were sent the Kokuyo staple free stapler in pink and A couldn’t wait to give it a try. It is very easy to use and it works well. We learnt the ‘you must read the instructions’ lesson as you can only staple once and then take your paper out. If you try to staple more times, it doesn’t work. We had a go at stapling paper together and then we made a paper chain and the stapler worked really well.

I love writing letters – but it seems to be a dying art! I’ve written to my daughters every week since they went to uni and I know they both appreciate the latest musings from home. Love the idea of National Stationery Week – sounds like the perfect excuse to invest in some more supplies.
