Finding the perfect Hotter shoes for spring

When was the last time you had your feet measured? I know it is a long, long time since I had had mine measured properly.  I have the children’s feet measured every 8 weeks or so but it had never occurred to me that my feet may have changed.  As parents, we all have our children’s feet measured regularly because we know how important it is to wear shoes that fit correctly yet we don’t do go through the same process ourselves.

As adults, we assume that once our feet have stopped growing, that is it and our feet will stay the same.  Technically, that is not the case.  It is very unlikely that our feet will shrink, but over time, the size of feet can be enlarged as our ligaments soften and our feet can get flatter.  So it is worth getting them measured from time to time.

It is also possible that the size you think you are is wrong, as I discovered when I visited Hotter in Solihull earlier this week.  In Hotter, they are more than happy to measure your feet and they do a very thorough job, talking you through the size of each foot (my feet are different sizes) and the width.  This enables them and you to find the perfect sized shoe.

I have always been under the misconception that I was a size 7 and that I had wide feet.  I was wrong on both counts.  I am in fact a 6 1/2 and my feet are standard width. I was amazed at this and even more amazed when the shoes that I tried on (and I did try on quite a few pairs) were quite generous.

I always find the staff in the Hotter stores really helpful.  They take the time to help you not only with the sizing of shoes but will recommend shoes for you to try that you might not have considered.  When you talk to them about Hotter shoes, they have a real understanding of the shoes and the styles and they talk with passion about the brand which is a real positive and says a lot about how good Hotter shoes really are.

My shoe and boot collection comprises a few Hotter pairs already as I am a big fan of their Comfort Concept and the fact that when you put on a pair of Hotter shoes for the first time, it feels so comfortable. I particularly like their flatter styles as I spend a lot of time on my feet.  I was erring on the side of a very similar pair but the shop assistant suggested that I try a few pairs on and she bought out a range of flat styles for me to try.  They were all amazing, they felt comfortable and I probably could have bought five pairs.  In the end I chose a pair of Jewel shoes.

Interestingly, I would never have chosen these but they are amazing.  With the bow detail, they have the look of a ballet style pump but are much sturdier.  These will be perfect for the spring and summer and I am now tempted to buy a couple of pairs in the other colours too.  I am pleased that I came away with something that fits perfectly,  will suit my lifestyle but is different to the style that I would usually buy and that is down to the great customer service that you get in Hotter.
