The Shopkins adverts have a very catchy little tune and as soon as the Ice Cool Fridge Playset arrived, the children kept bursting into song every time they went past it. If like me, you haven’t heard of Shopkins before, they are a range of tiny grocery themed characters. With the motto; ‘once you shop, you can’t stop’, there are lots of these cute little characters to collect and they can are bought in pairs and come packed in small plastic shopping baskets.
The Shopkins So Cool Fridge Playset is one of a range of playsets that enable interactive play with the Shopkins and A loves it. The fridge is a mini replica of a fridge with an ice dispenser, egg seesaw, stickers and removable drawers and trays. Two Shopkins are also inside and 6 mini Shopkins eggs which are super cute. You can decorate the fridge with the stickers, play seesaw with the mini eggs before hiding them in the drawers and send the Shopkins sliding through the ice dispenser before packing them away in the shopping bags. The freezer is also a great place to store the Shopkins when they are not being used.
One of the best things about this set is that it requires no batteries. It is a playset that is easy to set up, it is brightly coloured and appealing to children and it allows children to play and use their imaginations.
A is five and she loves the playset. She has become obsessed with the Shopkins characters and was very excited to find that you can buy the Shopkins characters in our local supermarket. She uses the playset along with other small plastic toys that she has and has spent a lot of time, sat on the floor independently playing with the playset and making up shopping and cafe role-plays using the Shopkins characters. I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more Shopkins in this house and this is just the start.
The RRP of the Shopkins So Cool Fridge Playset is £14.99 and I think it is excellent value for a really cool toy.
