Laser Combat at Hatton Adventure World

When we first visited Hatton Adventure World in Warwickshire, the boys were really young.  I had ever been before and we went on a trip with playgroup.  It was like finding hidden treasure to find such a wonderful place to visit with children and during the many trips that we have made there over the years and here are a few photos from a trip in 2008 when the boys were a lot younger.

I have often commented to my husband that it will be a shame when the children are too old to go there, but Hatton seem to be way ahead of me though as they have expanded and evolved over the years and with new things added which appeal to older children as well as younger, it is almost as though it has grown up with the boys.  This Easter they have opened a brand new Laser Combat and I knew as soon as I heard about it that this would be perfect to keep the boys happy and I was not wrong.

A large area has been designated for the Laser Combat and it has been set up so that two teams can run around and battle it out with lots of places and things to hide behind.  The laser guns are easy to use and the guides give you a clear briefing before you start out to explain how the guns work and how to play.

The laser combat lasts for twenty minutes and you get ten minutes on each side of the field, the first five minutes of each ten is a great chance to go crazy as you can refill your lives and not get killed.

This is usually the sort of activity that I would leave for the boys and daddy to do but for the purpose of writing a proper review, I decided to give it a go.   You are all given a camouflage boiler suit and matching cap to wear and split into two teams; blue and red.  I was a little bit cautious but it was so exhilarating.  I had a go with R who loved it so much, we paid for him to have a second go and he joined his dad and brother for their session later in the day.  One laser combat session is included in the entry price but you have to book on entry to ensure that you get a session during your day.  Children have to be eight or over to play and adults can and do join in too.

This is perfect to keep the older children happy at Hatton Adventure World and we all agreed that it was brilliant fun.  My husband’s face was a picture when he was running around like a lunatic and so I think it is perfect for the really ‘big kids’ in the family too.

Hatton Adventure World has so many other activities to offer.  There are lots of animals to see and if you are lucky you might get to hold some of them too.

There are ponies to be ridden (for a small additional cost).

There are lots of outdoor games to be played.  Bowling is a serious business.

 Giant snakes and ladders is a family affair which was surprisingly argument free.

 Maybe stop for a little putting and take in the views of the park.

 There are endless play areas with swings, slides, trampolines, little rides, inflatables and I love that Hatton is a place for outdoor play and for getting back to basics for the children.  They can drive mini JCBs, play in the playhouses, even milk a pretend cow if they want to.

There is panning for gold which will reward you with a very important gold medal and you can bet on the Hatton Grand National (run by sheep).

We were lucky to have amazing weather but there is a fantastic indoor play area with drop slides and large areas to run around and explore, whatever the weather.

Hatton Adventure World is one of our favourite places to spend a family day out as there is so much to do and see and there is something to please everyone and now with the added bonus of the Laser Combat, I know that the boys are all very keen to visit again really soon.
