Ragley Hall in Warwickshire is only about fifteen minutes away from my hometown and so it is somewhere that I have visited on and off since I was a child. It is a truly beautiful place to visit; a majestic stately home which overlooks the most stunning landscape, it is serene and a wonderful place to spend an afternoon or even a day. These days, the landscape has changed somewhat with the brilliant addition of an adventure playground that my children adore.
The adventure playground is a huge space with lots of things to keep the children occupied; swings, a trampoline, zip rope, slides, climbing wall, more slides, an aerial runway, a rope bridge and more. This is a place for lots of energy to be used and there is so much to explore and try out. Our favourite bit is the 3D maze which is such fun. It has a tunnels and bridges and you climb up and down to find your way to the middle and back out. You will see as may adults enjoying the maze as children and it is great exercise too.
The slides At Ragley Hall are ‘epic’ according to my son. There are smaller ones for younger children and a ginormous one for older children (and their parents).
The children had a wonderful afternoon and the fresh air and exercise did us all some good.
Once we had exhausted the adventure playground, we had a quick stop at the cafe for ice-cream and went off to explore the gardens which are fantastic for running around, sitting and reflecting in and also have some seriously good hills to roll down.
Walking through the gardens, it is worth keeping an eye out for anything interesting or in my daughter’s case, somewhere to sit down.
Wherever you are in Ragley Hall, the views are spectacular. We only spent a few hours there and there are walks and more gardens to explore and one day I might even make it into Ragley Hall itself.
One thing for sure, now we have rediscovered Ragley, we will be heading back again a few times this summer.
This isn’t too far from us either, and yet we’ve never been. Now that I’ve seen the beautiful gardens and amazing kids area, I think we’ll be visiting soon! x

The 3D maze is brilliant fun, although some of the climbing bits are a bit of a challenge for me. I am definitely going to give the slide a go when we go again.
You’ve got to love a good slide! My two would love it here. I do think it’s fantastic how many historic homes are becoming increasingly child-friendly. An interesting day out for adults, with happy kids too – a perfect recipe.

So good to get some time away as a family – and a place with adult luxury as well as fun for little ones definitely gets my vote!
It is lovely to have family time and as the children get older, that seems to get harder as they have other commitments.
