“A vacuum cleaner for windows??” My son was slightly aghast when my Vileda Windomatic arrived. “But you vacuum the carpets, not the windows!”

He shook his head and wandered off but guess who was busy vacuuming the windows a few hours later, once it had been charged? Yes, my gadget loving son and he was rather impressed.
So was I. Not just had I found a way to get another household chore done by one of the children, but I had found a really handy gadget that made one of my least favourite jobs a whole lot easier. It is also approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute which for me shows that this is a product that has been tried, tested and deemed to be worth having.
So what is the Vileda Windomatic Vacuum Cleaner? It is a handheld gadget which has a wide wiper blade, flexible head and it sucks up both the liquid and dirt from your windows into a small tank that can then be easily emptied.
The WindoMatic is simple to set up, lightweight and easy to use. Once out of the box, it needs to be charged for about six hours and then you clip it together and it is ready to use.
So how does it work? It is a vacuum because it sucks the water, cleaning detergent and dirt from the window. You simply wet the windows with water or your chosen window cleaning solution, make sure that the window is quite wet as this helps the Windomatic to do its job better. The shape and flexibly of the wiper means that you can get easily into the corners and it leaves the windows shiny and clean in minutes. The dirt and liquid are sucked up into a small tank in the handle which can be quickly and easily removed and emptied.

I was able to do all of my windows from one charge which takes me about half an hour in total; both sides of the downstairs windows and the inside of the upstairs windows. The Vileda Windomatic Window Vacuum Cleaner is the perfect addition to my cleaning tools; easy to set up, easy to use and does the job better than I would with my cleaner and cloth. Now I have it, there will be no excuse for dirty windows.
In addition to windows, you can also use the Vileda Windomatic Window Vacuum Cleaner on tiles, mirrors, shower screens and you could even use it to vacuum up spills which I have found to be an absolute godsend as my children are forever spilling their drinks and it cleans up spills in a matter of seconds, so no more wasting endless amounts of kitchen towel. You could also use it during the winter months to get rid of condensation that builds up on the inside of windows too.

The RRP of the Vileda Windomatic Window Vacuum Cleaner is £49.99 but I have seen it for less, so it is worth shopping around. Find out more about this and the full range of Vileda products on their website.
