We love surprise packages in this house and we received one a few weeks ago. My daughter is rather keen to help me open them due to the fact that quite a few of them are for her and this package received a suitable squeal of delight when we opened it. It was a new Sylvanian family.
A discovered Sylvanian Families last year and her collection increased over the birthday and Christmas period. I can see why she loves Sylvanian Families, they are extremely cute. With incredible details, adorable outfits soft to touch, the characters are fun to collect and with a wealth of accessories, houses and furniture, they encourage hours of imaginative play. She certainly loves playing with them.
If you visit the Sylvanian Families website, you can find out all about your family and I love that they all have jobs within the village and personalities too. In the Grey Cat Family, Perkin the father, is a supermarket manager while his wife Dorothy is the manager of the Sylvanian Village sweet store.
Sylvanian Families are around £17 for a family set and they are great toys to collect and keep. These furry friends have been around for over thirty years now, having celebrated their 30th year in 2015 and it is easy to see how they have survived the test of time. They really are timeless and you could easily add in older sets to newer ones (I know this as we were given some older sets by a friend) and you would hardly notice the difference.
I am pretty certain that Sylvanian Families are around to stay in this house for a while and I am pleased as they are perfect for encouraging imagination and screen-free play and most importantly, making my daughter smile.
