How to Protect Your Children On Their Phones

October 5, 2017 in Parenting

If like me, you have a teenager in the house, I expect you may have the same issues and worries about their obsession with their small screens.  Issues such as the amount of time spent on it and reluctance to come off it are common in this house.  I ask him to come off and I can’t remember the last time I got a simple “yes mum’ as a response.  It is always “in a minute”, “I just need to finish something” or “I’m in the middle of a conversation.” The worries are what they are accessing and what is going on behind the scenes that you don’t know about.

It is a huge worry.  So how can you protect their children when they are using mobile phones on a daily basis? Today I am sharing an interesting infographic from fixapplenow which gives lots of advice on what the risks are and steps you can take to keep your children safe when they are online.

Aaagh! It’s so scary, not to mention so flipping annoying when they won’t come off them. I set the ground rules at the start, but I sometimes think I haven’t done enough since to keep tabs on what they’re all up to.
