The Ingenious Junior Backpack and Lunch Bag Combo from Tinyme

Tinyme has made me a rather happy mummy over the last few weeks thanks to the Junior Backpack and Lunch Bag Combo.  It is almost as though they have been listening to a few of my daily moans about lunchboxes and school bags as they have come up with not one but two solutions to two daily problems.

Problem number one is lunchboxes.  Well, lunch bags to be precise.  So many lunch bags have been and gone in this house over the years.  They are perfect for kids as they are brightly coloured, fun and flexible so easy to carry and won’t break if they get dropped. They are not so perfect, however,  for the poor parents that have to clean them.  Every day, I find myself trying to extract yoghurt, bread crumbs and squashed fruit from those edges and corners and sometimes it is just impossible.  Then, of course, they start to smell if you don’t quite get the whole thing clean.

I did discover that you can stick lunch bags into the washing machine which is handy, but often a few trips in the washing machine can make them seem a little bit faded.

Tinyme has definitely been listening as they have the perfect solution to the battle of the lunch bag as they have created something quite unique. In their description of their Personalised Lunch Bags, they talk about the perfect recipe for disgusting lunch bag status and how disgusting is much harder with their silicone lunch bags.

Beautifully personalised on the outside with a choice of three colours and a huge range of designs for the personalisation, inside the lunch bag is a food grade silicone lining.  This clever lining sits inside the bag and when you have emptied it out at the end of the day, no matter how disgusting it is, you can remover the lining and wash it. You can even stick in the dishwasher and it comes out as good as new each time.  Amazing.

The lunch bag is a good size and a lovely design. It has a pocket on the outside and a mesh pocket inside.  It is fully insulated and the handle is padded. My daughter absolutely loves it.

Problem number two is having so many bags to take to school. Now she is in Key Stage 2, my daughter has abandoned her book bag now, in favour of something more grown up.  This means that she needs quite a big bag for school so that she can fit everything in and not have to carry her lunchbox and any other bags separately.

Once again. Tinyme has been listening as they have come up with another very clever idea.  You can have the matching backpacks which are available in the same colour and with the same designs.  Backpacks are available in two sizes; the Everyday Backpack and the Junior Backpack.  But, Tinyme has created their own Backpack Combos where you buy the matching backpack and lunch bag and then using what they call ‘The Piggyback Connector’, you can connect the lunch bag to the bag.

The Piggyback Connector is like a piece of folded plastic and it cleverly slides into the back pocket of the lunch bag and the front pocket of the backpack and it ‘piggybacks’ the two together to make it easier to carry. It makes them look like one big bag and when you take the connector out, it slides into the pocket of the lunch bag, out of sight until you need it again.

Both the Piggyback connector and the silicone lining are genius ideas and both make life easier for both parents and kids.  It is lovely to see that a company is putting serious thought into products that we really need and that will make life easier.  My daughter loves her Junior Backpack Combo, both the bag and the lunch bag and thinks that being able to connect them together is the coolest thing.  She has also commented that the lunch bag smells a lot better than her old ones, so that shows that the silicone lining is doing its job.
