Way back in 2012, I was the mum of boys aged 17, 8 and 7 and a daughter aged 2. Life was so very different back then. I decided to rewrite the 12 Days of Christmas song to create the Twelve Stressy Days of Christmas. Well, since then life has moved on and one child is an adult and I am currently surviving (just) life with two teens and a tween. So what would be the 12 days of teen Christmas?
On the first day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… an Xbox blaring loudly
On the second day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
…. two overreactions
On the third day of Christmas, my teenager brought to me …
…. three idiot friends
On the fourth day of Christmas, my teenager said to me …
…. very few words
On the fifth day of Christmas, my teenager sent to me …
… five stroppy moods
On the sixth day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… six tempers flaring
On the seventh day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me…
… several eyes a rolling
On the eighth day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… eight gadgets beeping
On the ninth day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… nine selfies taking
On the tenth day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… ten Snapchats sending
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my teen brought to me …
… eleven friends a shouting
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my teenager gave to me …
… twelve doors a slamming
Here’s hoping for a merry Christmas with a house full of teenagers and their hormones. You will find me hiding in the kitchen with the Prosecco.
