Can you ever have too many notebooks?

April 23, 2019 in Reviewing

Disclaimer – I was able to order two notebooks free of charge from TOAD in return for an honest review.  All opinions are 100% honest.

This is a question that I ask myself frequently and my answer is a very resounding no. You can NEVER have too many notebooks and I know that the many like-minded stationery obsessives will be agreeing with me on that point.

I’m not convinced that my husband agrees.  However, when a new notebook arrives in the house (and they do, frequently), he shrugs and gives me that look which I know is quietly saying that he knows about my many piles of notebooks around the house and he also knows that not all of them have anything inside them. But they will eventually ….

I am also teaching my daughter in the ways of being a notebook lover (and hoarder).  Like her mum, she is a total stationery addict and for a nine-year-old, I am seriously impressed by her rapidly growing collection of notebooks.

Our latest notebooks arrived last week from TOAD and I have to say that we both enjoyed the process of choosing and creating our notebooks tremendously and loved the finished product even more. I have long been a fan of the TOAD collection and in recent year, have bought their diaries as they are fully customizable and because they are date flexible, you can choose to start them whenever you need them and in my experience, it isn’t always on January 1st.

When personalising your TOAD notebook, there are lots of different cover options

Recently, I have noticed that TOAD have added more designs and options to their range and I was really excited to order a notebook from them to see what was on offer. I wasn’t disappointed and the only dilemma I had was choosing as I wanted all of the designs.

The first choice is either a TOAD Touch notebook or a TOAD Essentials.  The Toad Touch is a soft feel notebook which comes in a choice of five colours and can be either Layflat or Wiro. The TOAD Essentials can be wiro-bound, hardback or stitched.  The Essentials notebooks can be customised with a wide range of different cover designs, ranging from retro styles, cityscapes, neutral quotes and more.

With both ranges of notebooks, the thing that I really love is that firstly, you can personalise your notebooks.  Secondly, and this is the best bit for me, you can choose to format the inside of your notebook according to your requirements.   Grid, lines, dots, blank, you can choose your page layouts to suit your needs or you can mix your formats which is amazing. There is even the option to have a notebook containing musical manuscripts.  I have never seen the option to customise a notebook to this extent and it is brilliant.

I love the fact that with TOAD notebooks you can have a combination of different page types

Designing your notebook takes minutes.  The TOAD website it easy to navigate and very user-friendly.  You choose your notebook, choose the style, the cover, add in any personalisation and finally the format of the pages inside.  It really is very quick and very simple.

Designing your TOAD notebook is really easy

We chose two completely different designs for our notebooks.  My daughter liked the idea of having a soft feel notebook. She chose the layflat design in teal and it is a really beautiful colour. With my love of all things French, I opted for the Paris City Scape to use for my French lesson planning.  I went for the option of mixed grids and lines.

Both notebooks arrived quickly and both mother and daughter are delighted with their respective notebooks.  My daughter has already been putting hers to good use and loves it.  I will be using mine after the Easter break. For me, having a wirebound notebook is perfect as I can make notes for my lessons and fold the cover and pages back to be able to use the notebook as I work. My daughter is so thrilled with her notebook, the cover does have a really soft feel to it and she cna often be found stroking the cover of her notebook as it “feels so nice”.  Both styles of notebook also come with a wayfinding ribbon which is a really helpful addition.

TOAD notebooks, tick lots of boxes for me.  The design process is a breeze and it is nice to be able to choose between designs, sizes and styles so easily.  I LOVE being able to choose different options for the pages inside and the end products are really amazing quality for a great price.  Why not try it out for yourself and take a visit to the TOAD website and design a notebook for yourself. Because in my opinion, you honestly can never have too many notebooks. And with it being National Stationery Week next week, it is the perfect time to treat yourself ….

I don’t believe that you can ever have too many notebooks. My biggest problem is that I want to keep them for good, for a complete project… But can never decide when a project t is worthy enough to utilise one if my beautiful notebooks.
