Taking the stress out of back to school shoe shopping

Back to school.

I know it is still a couple of weeks before most of the kids go back to school, but it is that time of the holidays when I start to think about preparing for the school year ahead. It isn’t the worst job in the world, I am quite happy to buy shiny new stationery, bags and uniform.  That is the easy bit.  I don’t even mind labelling uniform (thanks to the ease of using a trusty Sharpie pen).  But there is one back to school job that fills me with dread every single year.

The dreaded back to school shoe shop.  It is nothing short of hideous.  Us and the rest of the world, all crammed into a tiny shoe shop.  It is not pretty.  There is something about being in shoe shops that turns my three into the most objectionable, badly behaved, argumentative monsters. I have no idea why.

So why not take the stress out of back to school shoe shopping by buying shoes online.  What a genius idea!  Of course, getting the right size is essential, so we still have the drama of getting all three of them to have their feet measured.  But at least then, we can whizz home afterwards and heave a sigh of relief that the ordeal is over for another year.

With so many great styles to choose from, it was a difficult decision choosing just one pair.  In the end my daughter settles for a pair of Lelli Kelly Tracy Bow Bar Shoes in black patent and she adores them.  They come with a pair of lacy white ankle socks and they are so well-made and sturdy, that I have no doubt that they will last.  My daughter is the worst of them all when it comes to putting shoes through their paces, but I have high hopes for these shoes as they look great.
