One of the first things I realised when we started taking our puppy out for walks was that my shoe collection is very inadequate. I am not a woman who buys a lot of shoes (unlike my mother who could open her own shoe shop). Having quite a practical approach to buying shoes, I buy one, maybe two pairs of long boots and a pair of ankle boots for the winter and for the summer I have a pair of comfortable shoes that pretty much can be worn anywhere. Added to that, I have a pair of trainers, a very old pair of walking shoes and some smarter shoes for those other occasions.
Most of my shoes are from Hotter. I did a few reviews for them a few years ago and to be honest, I have never looked back. I buy at least one pair each season from them as I just love how comfortable and well-fitting they are. Added to that, they are fantastic quality and they always last, so what’s not to love.
Hotter sent me a pair of Star shoes to review. They immediately appealed to me as they looked perfect for dog walking. I usually take the dog for a walk when I do the school runs and I need something quick to put on, comfortable, quite sturdy and suitable for different terrains. Star shoes looked like the perfect thing.
The Star shoe is available in four different colours; navy multi, black multi, dark pewter or dark rose metallic. I liked all of the colours but decided to go for the black multi as they would fit in perfectly with my winter wardrobe. The Star shoe is part of the Hotter Athleisure essential range and they have lots of comfort features, such as clean lines, contoured insoles and cushioned padding to the collar and tongue. All of these features work together to protect your feet while the breathable, sports mesh lining keeps them happy and comfortable.
What I particularly liked about the design and colour of the shoes is that they have shimmer effect on the top which is really lovely. You could wear these shoes with lots of different outfits, they are very much like a trainer but far sturdier and more comfortable. As soon as you put them on, you feel as though you have been wearing them forever. That is one of the other things I love about wearing Hotter shoes.
So far, I have been on quite a few walks with my Star shoes and they are so comfortable I love them. The soles are sturdy and suitable for different types of ground and most importantly they make walking a breeze. They are easy to get on and off and I love the design too.
I have the perfect shoes to wear for dog walking. Now, I just need to train our puppy to behave herself and those walks will be perfect. I honestly can’t recommend Hotter shoes enough, whatever type of shoe or boot you are looking for, they are always the most comfortable shoes and I love them.
Disclosure – I was sent a pair of Hotter Star Shoes in return for this review. All opinions are my own.

These do look good for dog walks – or walks in general. I’m like you, I have very few shoes. I get by on one pair of Converse, one pair of flip flops and one pair of boots. I replace the boots about every three years, the flip flops every two years and the Converse every year! The Converse would definitely not be good for winter countryside walks.
