I love the Harry Potter books and I was delighted a few months ago when my youngest decided she was ready to embark on the stories with me at bedtime. Just as I was when I first read them, she was gripped and I don’t think we have ever read a set of books so quickly. Before I knew it, I was saying goodbye to the adult Harry once more and my daughter became obsessed with all things Harry Potter.
For those Harry Potter fans who also love collectibles, the new Harry Potter Magical Capsules will be hugely popular. Each capsule is a bronze Hogwarts crest and each one contains one iconic character from the Harry Potter stories. There are ten different characters to collect in series one and each capsule has seven surprises hidden inside.
When you look closely at the capsule, you will see that it has numbered doors. There are three and starting with 1, you will find clues to the character hidden behind the final door. Clue 1 is a heat sensitive crest of the Hogwarts four houses and this reveals your character’s house. Ours was Gryffindor which pleased my daughter immensely as this is her favourite house. Next up we found a spell. Well, we had to pop it into water to reveal it but it was ‘wingardium leviosa’ so my daughter wondered if maybe it was Hermione. Behind door number three were four packages containing three accessories and a character. We discovered a very cute little rat, a wand and a Howler. As soon as the rat appeared, my daughter knew that Ron was her character and it was. The characters are really cute and put together with their accessories, Harry Potter fans will want to collect them all.
The characters available in series one are Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Draco, Snape, Ginny, Cedric and Cho.
One of the things that I really liked about the Harry Potter Magical Capsule is that the packaging inside was paper meaning that it could all go into the recycling. With many collectible toys having so much plastic in them, this was a really good idea and certainly didn’t detach from the unboxing fun. The capsule itself is really cool and can be used to store your characters and their accessories inside.
Of course, as with all collectibles, you also get the collector’s card which allows you to see the complete list of characters in Series 1. To add to the excitement, there is one rare and one ultra rare. There is space to tick off each character as you get it.
My daughter loved the Magical Capsules, she loved working her way through the doors and using the clues to work out her character. And it is very hard not to like the characters themselves as they are super cute and so are their fantastic beast pets too. The accessories are a really nice touch and it would be lovely to get the whole set. An absolute must for young Harry Potter fans
