Are Keywords Really Important For My Website’s Growth?

July 14, 2021 in Living

How important are keywords when you’re trying to maximize your SEO efforts? The answer is simply. It’s very important. They play a large role in how you are viewed by Google and therefore improves your SEO – or hinders it. The choice is yours. However, it is first important to note exactly what keywords are and how they tie in to your business. Professionals can assist you in your quest, and you may want to look at SEO that works. However, firstly you should learn all about keywords and how they can benefit you.

Are Keywords Really Important For My Websites Growth

Keywords: short, mid and long tail

Professionals divide keywords into different categories. Criteria are search volume, degree of specificity and conversion rate. Here are some things to note:

  • Short-tail keywords are general, unspecific search terms. You have a high search volume, but at the same time a poor conversion rate.
  • Long-tail keywords are specific search terms that are rare. Customers who enter a long-tail keyword are in a different phase of the customer journey than someone who uses a short-tail keyword to get a general overview. Long-tail keywords therefore have a higher conversion rate.
  • Mid-tail keywords are, of course, in the middle between short and long-tail: They are characterized by a medium specificity, a medium search volume and an average conversion rate.

Keywords: What else you need to know

An important ranking factor is the search intention behind a keyword: Does the user want to solve a problem or achieve a goal? The search intention decides which content has to be offered to the user: the focus is to solve their problem. Give them the information they are looking for – presented in a way that is easy to understand and reader-friendly. As mentioned earlier, your keyword strategy must take into account which phase of the customer journey the potential customer is in. Are they considering or are they determined to buy the product? Answer these questions to deliver tailor-made content. You can add photography, videography and great content to really entice readers further.

The keyword research

If you want to do a keyword search yourself, the first step should be to collect a large number of possible keywords. Try to cover all phases of the customer journey. It is worthwhile to take a look at the competitors in the search engine. Take a close look at what the top-ranked websites have in common and see what you can do for your website. This can be done by your own research into the matter. Oftentimes, these keywords may change depending on what is going on in the world and more. Therefore, always be on the ball and look to change things up as often as you can.

You can most certainly use keywords to boost your business’ SEO. Use it often in your content and keep things rich. This will help Google see that you are producing incredible content time after time. If you want to grow your website, you must appreciate that it will probably take time. There is no quick fix.
