Never have I ever is one of my favourite ‘games’ to play with my language students. Once they stop panicking that I might be asking them the sort of questions that they might usually ask in the regular drinking game and that my version is the completely safe teacher version, it is a great conversation starter. My daughter and I are currently watching the TV series of the same name on Netflix too and we had an interesting conversation about the origins of the title of the show. I was trying to come up with non-controversial statements that would be applicable to me. The first set was quite boring and perfectly acceptable for my darling daughter to hear.
Never have I ever had a whole week of sleep-filled nights.
Never have I ever had any money.
Never have I ever got cupboards filled with food.
Never have I ever gone for 24 hours without putting on the washing machine.
Never have I ever stepped on LEGO.
She got the idea and soon went back to something far more interesting than me and my weird games. But I discovered that writing down a few more was quite a cathartic experience. If I was using these as a drinking game, I may be rather drunk after this list but here goes nothing. If any of these apply to you, take a swig of tea (or something stronger if needed).
Never have I ever hid chocolate or biscuits from other members of the house.
Never have I ever watched children’s television with no children in the room.
Never have I ever spent an extra five minutes on the toilet to just have me-time.
Never have I ever told a lie to my children.
Never have I ever told a lie about my children.
Never have I ever sworn in front of my children.
Never have I ever resorted to take away food for tea on a week night.
Never have I ever forgotten to do my tooth fairy duties on the correct evening.
Never have I ever taken the batteries out of a particularly annoying toy and then claimed that it is broken.
Never have I ever locked myself out of the house with all of the children in tow.
Never have I ever called my children by the wrong name.
Never have I ever said something to my children that my mum used to say to me (and I hated).
Never have I ever sent my children into school on non-uniform day in their uniform.
Never have I ever put any of my darling children’s artistic creations in the recycling bin.
Never have I ever drunk alcoholic beverages from a mug to hide them from the children/husband.
Never have I ever crawled out of my children’s bedrooms like a Ninja trying to escape without waking them up.
Never have I ever dyed one of my children’s favourite items of clothing a horrible colour in the washing machine.
I’m sure the list could go on and on. What ‘Never have I ever …’ would you add to the list?

I love that Netflix show Never have I ever.
hahaha! I think I have done all of these things. x
