4 Important Appointments Every Woman Needs To Schedule Today

April 28, 2022 in Living

You are busy. Taking care of others and holding down paid employment leaves little time for your needs. They are vital, however. After all, if you are not well, how can you attend to the important people in your life? Here are four essential appointments that you must make today.

4 Important Appointments Every Woman Needs To Schedule Today

1. Arrange your annual well woman exam.

Your body moves you from place to place countless times throughout the day. It needs to be reliable and feel good to function well. You must schedule a well woman exam every year. Your GP will guide you on how to best care for your unique body. If any concerns arise, they are best suited to refer you for additional care, such as a pelvic ultrasound scan or anything else you might need.

Annual exams are the perfect time to bring up any questions or concerns. Bring a list so you do not forget anything, and take notes as needed during the appointment. You know your body the best and should communicate your needs to your doctor.

2. Set up a financial assessment.

You may be surprised to see a financial appointment listed as essential. As life moves along, women tend to forget to update financial documents. They let their accounts stagnate where they are and rely on others to manage them in some situations. No more. Now is the time to pull out your financial information and take a hard look at where your money is. Meet with your financial advisor or find one for free.

3. Schedule a legal appointment.

If you do not already have a legal will drawn up, do not hesitate. Of course, you plan on living a long and full life, but you know that the unfortunate can occur without warning. Wills are necessary documents that give loved ones information about how to distribute your property and assets. Leaving these decisions to others after your passing can lead to headaches and heartache.

Make an annually recurring note on your calendar to review your will. Major life events such as a marriage, birth, death, or divorce are all reasons to make an update.

4. Make an appointment with yourself.

You matter to so many people. To stay healthy, you need to take care of yourself. Care comes in many forms, but an important way to do this is by giving yourself the gift of time. Sometimes time needs to be scheduled so you respect it. Go ahead and take blocks off of your daily calendar for yourself. If you schedule an appointment, you are less likely to cancel it. This rationale applies to you, as well.

Here is a list of ideas to take time out of your day to enjoy:

  • Meditate
  • Exercise
  • Garden
  • Read
  • Talk with a friend
  • Walk the dog without rushing
  • Get a massage
  • Take a bath
