Time to start thinking about New Year, new you?

October 24, 2022 in Living

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on and after a couple of years where we really don’t know what’s what, aside from the cost of living crisis, it’s time to start thinking about getting our lives back on track in 2023.

“New year, new me” we always hear, well there’s no better time to make that the case and ensure that 2023 really is your year.

Of course, resolutions can come in all forms, so if you’re starting to think about how you want your life to change over the next 12 months, then cement those resolutions down and maybe even get ahead of the game.

Unsure on what you should be changing? Here’s a little helping hand…

Start living cleanly

We’ll start with the most obvious one, but also the most important one too. The pandemic saw many of us turn to alcohol, with consumption increasing 14% during the period, with a massive 41% increase in women heavily drinking.

We’re now starting to see the effects of that more severely with more people dying and more people suffering from addiction. While that may be an extreme example, it’s also a very real one and rehabilitation is worth looking into for anyone that is struggling with alcohol. It will be truly life changing.

It’s not just cutting the booze though, think about your diet too. Do you need to think about improving your diet and make it more well balanced? Consider trying out new recipes so you’re not only improving your wellbeing and health, but also you’re enjoying it along the way.

Take the trip of a lifetime

While it may not be easy with energy bills sky high and a huge cost of living crisis, if you are lucky enough to be financially stable, then after a few years without travel why not take that trip of a lifetime at long last?

The planning stages can be just as exciting as doing it, so as soon as that clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, get the travel guides out and make a plan to visit the places you’ve always wanted to. You won’t regret it.

Start your side hustle

So many people successfully started a side hustle that has gone on to become a main source of income during the pandemic and it showcased just what can be done if you put your mind to it. If there’s something you’d always wanted to do but never quite got round to it, then now may be the time to turn your hobby or passion into a career.

You can start small and treat it just as a side hustle, and if it’s a good idea and you can dedicate enough time to it, you can watch your baby grow. So many people feel the benefit of ditching the 9 to 5 to do what they love. So why can’t you?

New year new you
