The latest craze amongst my children at the moment is interrupting each other when they are trying to say something. They have each perfected it to a fine art and use this skill at a time when it will cause maximum impact. One of them will be trying to tell me something and another will start speaking about something else or just repeat what the other person is saying. It is very annoying and ends up with them all shouting “I’m speaking!”, “NO, I’m speaking” at each other. I am considering buying some ear plugs.
The wonderful thing about having chatty children is that there is always someone chattering away to you. R is Minecraft obsessed and talks about Minecraft as though it is real life and to be quite honest he could be talking another language; it is all about mods and VIP and all sorts of words and terms that I am unfamiliar with. He was going on about enchanted leather pants today as if that was a perfectly normal thing to talk about which amused me immensely.
With L it is all about the football. He is loving the World Cup and I am certain that he knows the name of every player, the location and date of every match and more. We were in the car the other morning and he suddenly started taking about the 1974 World Cup and it made me laugh out loud. How does he know all this random stuff? He has earned the title of ‘football head’ as he really does know it all.
A is still perfecting her American accent and is always wanting to go to college. College is the little park down the path from our house and she takes her little back pack with a notebook and pen and some books and she sits down on the bench and has a ‘lesson’ which is really sweet.
A has however earned the title of ‘funee of the week’ as she came out of playgroup one day last week and gave a dramatic sigh in the car and declared that she was feeling wanky. Trying not to laugh I asked her what she meant and she shrugged her shoulders and said that she was a bit cross and worn out. So I think it was a cross between worn out and cranky maybe? Who knows? It did make me chuckle although I hope she doesn’t get into the habit of using the word too often.
If you have a funny story about something that your children have said or done, come and link up and share your stories and have a giggle at some of the other funee’s too.

hahahaha I do think mind-craft is another language, one I will never learn to speak. lol WANKY- haha I love it. I might have to introduce this into my language. It’s the perfect mix of worn out and cranky. Why has no one else thought this? Your little one is funny and brilliant. lol Thanks for hosting.

Oh dear! Well done on keeping a straight face. The leather pants are bad enough, but I would really have struggled with that one!
Oh bless, how cute is your daughter?! I have no idea how you managed not to collapse in a fit of giggles. My 2 were always inventing new words and one of my favourites was ‘scoopy,’ I decided this was a cross between spooky & scary. We’ve adopted this and use it quite often in conversation.
