Six weeks holiday and after one week back how is it that we are all so tired! My six year old son has turned from a sweet chilled out little lad into a raging hormonal monster! (not dissimilar to me at certain times of the month!). What exactly do they do to the children in that sweet little village school? Do they shut the door with a smile and then put the kids through six hours of rigorous army-style training! Both children have come out of school pale with eyes rolling and by four o’clock I have been ready to send them to bed!
I thought I would dally with school dinners this year- purely selfish you understand as I then only have to throw sandwiches together at high speed whilst dealing with reading, spellings, one-year-old tantrums and everything else! My seven year old has been great – so great in fact he says school dinners are better than mine! My six-year-old, however, has had jacket potato every day! Every day! £10 for five jacket potatoes – I was not impressed! But as he reminded me yesterday – it’s his life and he can do what he wants! It’s like having a teenager in a small body!
