I was looking after a beautiful baby boy one day this week and his mum left me his changing bag. Needing to give him a drink I rummaged through the bag to see if there was a cup and I found a number of interesting things: pens, a glue stick, nail scissors to name but a few, lurking beneath the nappies and change of clothes. No cup, however, but one large potato! Now I am certain that there have been some odd but baby-related products in my various changing bags over the years, but a potato?
When mum came to pick the baby up a few hours later, I couldn’t help but mention the potato to which she replied: “oh yes – the emergency potato, you never know when you might need a potato, do you?” This was said with no hint of a joke and could only agree. But it did get me thinking. When might you need an emergency potato?
1. For emergency potato printing.
2. If you were eating at the house of someone on a no carb diet.
3. Emergency Harvest Festival offering.
4. Impromptu game of potato-wanging
5. To throw at someone to get their attention ( depending on the size of course)
The possibilities are endless ….. Maybe I should keep one in my handbag?
