I have given this blog prompt a lot of thought. It’s a big thing isn’t it – isn’t it? So this is my take on the whole thing.
Dreams. Well, I have a dream… A dream of one day writing an actual book, you know a real one with chapters and everything! A book that might even leave my computer and be published with a sparkly cover. And people might actually want to read it and pay money for it!
That’s been my dream since I was a little girl, inspired by my obsession with the wonderful literary genius that was Enid Blyton. I have written countless short stories and planned endless novels. But as yet the only outlet for my writing is this blog. Who knows one day I might write a whole proper book and be brave enough to let someone else have a peek at it. Or maybe a short story …
For my family, my dream is like most of us parents who have responded to this blog prompt. I dream that they will all live long, healthy, happy and successful lives. That they don’t have to worry too much about money. I hope that they all have jobs that they enjoy and have loving families of their own.
On a purely selfish level, I hope that they have partners that I get on with, other wise those idyllic family gatherings might be a bit awkward!
I hope my husband finds a job a bit nearer to home so that he will stop moaning about his long drive and I hope that my children will start sleeping through the night so that grumpy, tired mummy can become happy nice mummy a bit more often.
And I hope that my next door neighbours accidentally break both their stereo and television so that I don’t have to sit and feel as though I am in fact watching their TV or listening to their music when I relax of an evening.
One final hope is that the cat that constantly poos outside our back door has his comeuppance…

I share your dream, Nikki. I’ve always dreamed of writing a book and seeing it in print. I’ve written the text for several children’s picture books in the last couple of years, but getting them published is an uphill battle, much harder than writing the damn things in the first place.
Still, I’ll keep trying because that’s what you do with dreams, right? You should follow your dream and go for it, who knows where it might lead. Best wishes with it and good luck with that horrible cat!
Hi Stressy Mummy – did you know that you linked this post up to Wot So Funee? Not sure if you had another linky in mind? I don’t mind, but it would be great if you could put my badge or a link to my site in your post. Thanks and welcome 🙂
Just realised you entered last week with a fab funee
Hi, this post made me smile from ear to ear. Especially the last bit, because we too have pesky cat that poops in our garden!
