Spring Crafts with Yellow Moon Part One

March 30, 2013 in Reviews

I do so love it when a surprise package arrives from Yellow Moon.  In fact, I think that it is safe to say that I get more excited than the children about it.  The latest package did not disappoint and has given many hours of pleasure already.

A absolutely loves stickers and it is lovely now as she can peel the backing paper off them herself and she would probably cover herself, her family and the whole house with stickers if we gave her the chance.  She was very excited by the stickers from Yellow Moon.  Firstly, there was a pack of British Bird Foam Stickers .

These cute little stickers come in a pack of 100 and there are ten different designs.  You would see a lot of these birds in your garden and so not only were these nice to use, you can also talk about the names and colours of the different birds at the same time.

Along with the British Bird stickers came a similar bag of Butterfly Foam Stickers which were definitely A’s absolute favourite thing in the box.  These stickers come in bags of 120 and there are twelve different designs.

These are really pretty and could be used to create all sorts of different art projects.  A just wanted to stick both types of stickers wherever she could.  We were all wearing them and she made some cards for her friends at playgroup with them.

L decided to use the bird stickers as part of a drawing and he was very pleased with the results.

We used the stickers along with some sheets taken from the Pastel Coloured Paper Pack, a useful addition to every craft drawer.

Next out of the box came a bag of Spring Pom Poms.  This is a bag of 200 pom poms in pastel colours in assorted sizes.  We had great fun with these.

Firstly we made some pom pom garlands.  I cut out some ‘frames’ in different shapes out of white card and made a hole at the top of each one with a hole punch.  A then covered the shapes with lots (and lots) of PVA glue and stuck lots of pom poms all around the shape.

Once they were dry, I threaded a pipe cleaner through the hole and we have hung them up around the house.  They look really pretty and A loves them.
Next up with the pom poms was some Easter cards.  We used some glitter card that we had left over from last Easter and cut them out into an Easter egg shaped card.  Using lots and lots of PVA glue, we made two bunnies and a chick using the different sized pom poms.  I then used some coloured paper to make the ears, noses and beaks and we added googly eyes.
A loves them so much that she won’t actually part with them and when I ask her who we are going to send them to, she answers ‘me!’
There were more lovely things in our box, but I shall save those for another time, but as always a huge thank you to the lovely people at Yellow Moon as we have had great fun trying out these products.
We were sent these products by Yellow Moon for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are our own.

What great activities. Lovely stickers. The rabbit is my favourite thing you made and what a great idea to stick them onto a card.

Thanks for joining in with the spring carnival.
