Hotter Shoes Review

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” – Marilyn Monroe

A very good friend of mine has an obsession with shoes and I mean an OBSESSION.  She loves them.  She has pairs and pairs of shoes, boots and sandals and each and every colour and style imaginable.  I dread to think how much she spends.  Me?  No.  I love shoes, but I am more of a ‘only have what you really need’ kind of a girl. Most of my shoes are black, flat and sensible.

Hotter have recently opened a shop in a town where I shop quite regularly and I have to admit that their shoes often catch my eye as I am passing, but I have never yet ventured inside.  That, I think is definitely going to change.

The lovely people at Hotter sent me a pair of their GABY wedges to review.  They do come in a range of colours but I predictably chose regulation black as it does go with everything.  When I opened the box, I have to admit that I was very pleased as they look really gorgeous but a little scared by the size of the wedge (balance is not my strong point at the best of times.)

I have worn my Gaby wedges a few times and I needn’t have worried as I haven’t (as yet) fallen off them and they are so comfortable, it is a real pleasure to wear them.  The Hotter ‘secret’ is that all of their shoes and sandals have a soft cushioning which makes them so soft and comfy and unlike most new shoes, I haven’t experienced any rubbing or blisters which is a definite bonus.

The thing that I really love about my new Gaby wedges is that not only are they really comfortable, they look quite glamorous but you can wear them with jeans, trousers or with a dress; anything goes.  There is an adjustable strap at the back and also a discreet elasticated panel which gives the strap an extra bit of stretch.

In terms of cost, I have to admit that the prices are a little bit higher than I would normally pay for shoes, but for the style and comfort I think it is definitely worth paying a bit more.  At the time of writing the Gaby Wedges are £70.

Hotter also sent me their catalogue which both A and I have been looking at all week and I am going into the shop tomorrow to have a look for a flatter pair and  I think Hotter may just be my new favourite shop.  I like the look of the Bliss shoes and think that they would be perfect for everyday wear and who knows maybe I will go for a colour other than black!

There is one person in the house who is not happy about my new shoes; Little Miss A.  In spite of having several more pairs of shoes than me already at the age of three, she loves these shoes and is very disappointed that they don’t come in her size although she has worn them a lot around the house.

And apparently they are excellent for watching television in!

I really recommend Hotter shoes out for yourselves and if you haven’t got a shop near you, check out their website, you won’t be disappointed.

We were sent a pair of Gaby Wedges for the purpose of this review but all images and opinions are our own.
