Merci Maman is a brand that I discovered through blogging and I have spent many happy hours browsing through the gorgeous gifts on their website. I may have also dropped a few (hundred) hints to my husband about how lovely their jewellery was and how I would just love one of their pieces with the children’s names on. When they contacted me about doing a review, I was absolutely thrilled and may have done a little jig around the kitchen (much to my children’s amusement.)
Translated as thank you mummy, Merci Maman design and create personalised jewellery and gifts so that you can keep your loved ones close to you. Originally created to celebrate the bond between the mother and child (hence the name), the unique jewellery created by Merci Maman has become increasingly in demand and they now create pieces for women, men and teens. Whichever design you choose, there is the option to personalise it with names, dates, special messages all written in the trademark French cursive handwriting.
I was sent the Duchess Necklace to review. So now I have something in common with the Duchess of Cambridge as she was seen wearing the Gold Duchess Necklace in October 2013 whilst shopping in Chelsea. The necklace was given the the Duchess by her sister Pippa after the birth of her son George.
The Duchess Necklace is absolutely beautiful. Made up of three charms; a disc to engrave names, dates or special messages, a mini heart charm which is just big enough to contain an initial and either a boy or a girl charm. The Duchess Necklace is available in sterling silver or gold plated; I chose silver with the long 80cm chain.
It was a tough choice deciding on which names to have engraved. You can have up to three names engraved which is tricky when you have four children. In the end I decided to dedicate this necklace to my daughter and I have her name on the disc charm and her date of birth on the back.
Now that I have finally experienced the joy of owning a piece of jewellery from Merci Maman, I am hooked. The Duchess Necklace is stunning and the personalised engraving makes it very special. If you are looking for a unique and meaningful gift for someone special in your life, or simply a treat for yourself, I thoroughly recommend that you take a long look around the Merci Maman website, you won’t regret it.
