You know you’re tired when …

November 20, 2014 in Family, Life

Every time you wake up, it feels like the middle of the night.

You wake up on a weekday totally convinced it’s the weekend (and feel genuinely upset that it isn’t)

You brush your teeth with moisturiser and rub toothpaste all over your face.

You try to turn the television on with your phone.

You make a cup of tea and forget to boil the water or put the tea bag in.

You finally make a cup of tea and then put salt in instead of sugar.

You put the kettle in the fridge and pour water on the cereals.

You try to set the microwave with your bank pin number.

You try to iron your children’s books.

You say things like; “flick your books off the poor” and “will you shut your poos on!”

You send emails that are signed ‘king retards’ instead of kind regards.

You leave the house with odd shoes.

You leave the house for the school run without the children.

You do the school run via the supermarket as you forgot where you were going.

You have long and fruitful conversations with your children’s toys.

You spend an hour looking for your glasses to find that you are already wearing them.

You sit and wait for the green light to change at traffic lights.

You fall asleep before the children at bedtime.

The bags under your eyes are big enough to take the whole family’s clothes on holiday.

It feels like everyday is  exactly the same as the one before and the one before that …

Hehe I don’t really know what’s wrong with me but lately I keep waking up not knowing what day it is and thinking it’s Saturday. Bit gutting when it’s not!! They look very comfy in your bed 🙂

Great post. Definitely done a few of these before! The no tea bag or forgetting to boil the water thing a number of times in fact! I made a bowl of cereal before work once, then put it in the fridge and tried to eat my coffee with a spoon.

In my defence, it was 5.10am.

Oh dear! Being someone who thrives on very little sleep, I had a laugh at these, but can’t actually relate to many – apart from saying weird things. Sometimes I say totally the wrong thing and I don’t know why, then I think I’m getting dementia! I always worry that I’ll mix up the toothpaste, face wash and moisturiser as they are in very similarly shaped tubes, but it hasn’t happened yet! My hubby thought it would be a good idea to switch the alarm on his phone off with the TV controller the other day. Funnily enough, it didn’t work!

I can definitely relate! Yesterday, I told O to carry “Wuzzy and Budd” to the car. Followed by “Buddy and Wuzz”. Finally by “Woody & Buzz”. But when I had to repeat myself, as 3 year olds never hear you the first 3 times, I went through the whole scenario again. Hubby was in tears laughing!!

Ha ha ha that is brilliant! I know exactly what you mean though, I do that all the time!
