How is it possible that Sylvanian Families are 30 years old?? They still look so young and cute with their little families who are all so cute. Yet, it is 30 years this year since the first Sylvanian Families sets were released. Originally launched in Japan, there was a house, 11 pieces of furniture, and 9 families. Fast forward thirty years later and now there are over 60 families along with a huge range of houses, furniture and accessories which are sold in over 45 countries worldwide. With impressive figures like that, it is clear that Sylvanian Familes are doing something right and when you look at the sets, it is easy to see why they are so popular.
Firstly, they are just the cutest things I have seen in my daughter’s toy box, the attention to detail and the way they look and feel makes them so appealing. Secondly, they all come with cute accessories and clothes which makes them perfect for engaging imaginary play.
My daughter is already talking about Christmas and her birthday which happens two weeks before. She has a very long list indeed of all of the things that she would like and Sylvanian Families are currently the leaders with her eye on one of the houses and a huge range of the families. I know that she would play with them, they fit in with her other toys, she spends hours playing with little figures and uses lots of different ranges in her games and she has a couple of Sylvanian Families and she regularly plays with them in her doll’s house or just on the carpet with other figures.
So when I was asked if I would like to be a Friends of Sylvanian Families blogger, I could not refuse and we were sent a lovely parcel filled with Sylvanian Families Goodies which will keep my daughter happy for a while. We will be keeping up to date with all of the Sylvanian Families news over the next few months and helping to celebrate this very special birthday and of course I will be posting about it too.
