I have been a fan of the show Friends from day one. From those early days when they were all so fresh-faced in the first season all through ten seasons and 236 episodes, I laughed, cried and laughed some more. There are some episodes that stand out such as The One With Ross’ Tan or The One With Unagi, but I could watch them all over and over and over again. They are brilliant. Timeless too. One of the joys of having kids is that you get to introduce them to Friends too and you can all watch them all over again. My eldest son is probably more obsessed with Friends than I am and my youngest daughter is currently working her way through all of the episodes on Netflix.
Given the opportunity to try out some Friends gift ideas from Pyramid Shop, I jumped at the chance as I knew as soon as I saw their fabulous range of Friends products, that I would love them. And I did. And so did my children. although this time, I stood firm and said that they were all mine and I was not sharing.
First up is the most epic of cups. This is the ultimate gift for all Friends’ lovers: a large Central Perk (22oz) coffee cup (£11.99). It fits perfectly into your hands and as a person who drinks an awful lot of tea, I can say that I love this cup. It is solid, it holds lots of tea and it looks like a proper Central Perk cup.
Pyramid Shop has a wonderful range of Friends themed mugs all colourfully displaying different memorable quotes from the hit TV series. You can choose from a selection of mugs including the immortal line “We were on a break!” or Joey’s catchphrase “How You Doing’?” My favourite is “You’re my lobster” (£8.99)which refers to Phoebe’s comment that Ross and Rachel are lobsters as lobsters are creatures that fall in love and mate for life. How romantic is that?
On the subject of quotes, I was more than happy to add this notebook to my collection. Hardbacked and wire bound, the cover of this A5 notebook is filled with quotes, images and references to the show. It is so colourful and a fantastic reminder of the program. The image from the cover is also available as a poster and I know a few Friends’ fans who would love to hang that on their walls.
“I’d rather be watching Friends” is the message written on the Friends Eco Travel Mug (£9.99). It is made from rice husk, a natural and durable by-product of rice, containing no melamine and are BPA free. This is the ultimate environmentally friendly cup as not only is it made from natural resources, but it also enables you to quickly and easily top it up with hot or cold drinks without having to use plastic or paper cups. It is also useful for those mornings when you need to take a drink with you as it is double-walled to keep drinks hot and cold and has a resealable non-drip lid.
Pyramid Shop has lots of amazing things in their Friends range; mugs, cups, prints even doormats. I am thrilled with all of the products I have been sent and they are all being put to good use already. The quality is also really good.
