12 Quick Beauty Fixes

May 27, 2019 in Living

In a fast-paced world, it is sometimes difficult to look exactly the way we want to. But, in many cases, there are quick fixes that can be done to help get the look we desire.  Whether it is a makeup mistake, hairstyling frustration, or getting rid of wrinkles, there are quick solutions for almost everything.

With a busy work schedule, taking care of the kids, and trying to maintain a sane home, it can be frustrating finding time to take care of yourself.  Hopefully, you will find a couple of these useful to make life just a little bit easier for you! Because, in the end, we all deserve a little “me time” to unwind and feel good.

Getting Tanned

Ideally, spending a few hours lying on the beach and soaking up the sun’s rays would be the way to get that desired tan.  However, most of us can not spend the time on the beach that we would like to.

Quick Fix: For this quick fix, all you need to do is mix liquid bronzer with a firming body cream and then massage onto your body.  It will tighten up your skin a bit but will provide you with that tan look that you want.

Lipstick Staying Power

One of the hardest parts of applying lipstick is that it doesn’t retain its colour throughout the whole day.  It can be frustrating to take the time to apply the ideal colour and then a few hours later, you can’t remember what colour you used.

Quick Fix: Apply a little bit of foundation onto your lips and then apply your lipstick.  This will help to maintain the desired colour throughout the whole day.

Makeup Smudges

You’re in your car driving to your blind date or a night out with the girls and you are applying some last minute makeup in the mirror.  A squirrel runs across the road and you have to make a quick swerve to not harm the little guy. In doing so, you smudged your makeup and are in panic mode.  Have no fear…

Quick Fix: Carry around some Q-tips with you and dip it in some eye cream.  Apply the eye cream to the area that was smudged and it will clean up the mistake after several minutes.  So, be sure to carry around some Q-tips and eye cream with you at all times!

Pimples, Pimples, Pimples

Is there anything more frustrating than finding pimples on your face?  And, they always show up at the worst times. It is hard to get rid of them quickly, so is there something that can be done to at least make them a little less noticeable?

Quick Fix: Purchase some Visine (if you don’t already have it) and keep it with you in your pocketbook.  Any time you see a really red pimple, apply Visine to it and it will help to reduce the redness. Before going to bed at night, you can apply some toothpaste on the pimple to reduce the swelling overnight. It’s not a perfect fix, but at least people won’t spot you from a mile away!

Wrinkles

The daily stresses of our lives bring on these unwanted skin features.  Wrinkles, like pimples, are something that we just can’t avoid. You can refer to your wrinkles as a sign of wisdom and knowledge, but most people want to refer to them as other words that can’t be used in this blog!

Quick Fix: There are tons of websites out there with a variety of different ways to tackle wrinkles.  15 Easy Ways To Get Rid Of And Prevent Hand Wrinkles is a perfect place to start.  Most of these quick fixes can also be applied to your face, but these tips attack the wrinkles that take over your hands.

Post-Workout Red Face

There is no better feeling than getting a good, hard workout in and feeling good about yourself.  You pushed yourself to the max and can now indulge in that chocolate cake waiting for you at home!  But, a drawback with working out so hard is that you really burn up and your face turns tomato red.

Quick Fix: A quick fix for this is to simply apply a cold towel to the back of your neck for two-three minutes.  This will help to cool down your entire body and will reduce the redness in your neck.

Unwashed Hair

When pressed for time, it is understandable that you may not have gotten the chance to wash your hair.  You worry about the oil and dirt that could be built up in there and think about it all day. You also want it to have a little life and smell clean.

Quick Fix: Purchase some baby powder (face powder works as well) and a big makeup brush.  With the brush, dab it into the powder and apply to your roots. The powder will attract the extra dirt and oil that you weren’t able to tackle by washing your hair.  It will leave you with the confidence that you didn’t leave your hair untreated.

Puffy Eyes

We all love to see those puffy eyes.  Lack of sleep, stress, and everyday craziness can lead to some droopiness in our eye region.  We hate that it makes us look older than we really are.

Quick Fix:  There is a boatload of ideas that you can use to work on those puffy eyes.  One quick way is to place caffeine filled tea bags onto your eyes. You will need to soak them in water first and then leave on each eye for up to 10 minutes.  You should also check out banish the bags under your eyes for a few more tips that you can utilize.

Razor Burn

The pain of razor burn can be one of the most obnoxious pains we run into.  And, not only are you dealing with the razor burn, you see bumps appear where you shaved.  And nobody needs to figure out where we shaved this morning.

Quick Fix: For this quick fix, all you need to do is apply some roll-on deodorant right after your shower to the areas that you shaved.  This should help to alleviate the bumps from showing on your body.

Soft Skin

Any time that you are planning a night out, you always want to look and feel your best.  One of the things that we all enjoy is soft skin. There are all kinds of creams and formulas that you can apply to help with this, but nature has supplied a simple and quick fix for this.

Quick Fix: Avocado!  You want to find a ripe avocado and mash it up.  It will form a paste that you can apply to your legs before heading out for the night.  Allow the paste to set for about 15 minutes and then you can rinse it off. The oil that was extracted from the avocado will help create softer skin.

Dry Skin

Not only do we all love soft skin, but we also like skin that doesn’t dry up on us.  Unfortunately, that is a common problem that almost everyone has to deal with. Whether it’s on your arms or your feet, dry skin has got to go.

Quick Fix: Simply grab a bottle of Olive Oil and apply generously on the desired areas.  If being used on your feet, apply before heading to bed. Once applied, put socks on and then head off to dreamland.  In the morning, you should feel much softer feet.

Nail Polish Quick Dry

You want your nails to look their best but you don’t have a lot of time to let them sit and dry.  For most of us, we just pass on taking the time to apply nail polish and just rush out the door. But, there is a quick fix that only takes up 5 minutes of your time.

Quick Fix: After applying your nail polish, let it dry for two minutes and then immediately submerge your hands in ice cold water for three minutes.  The cold water will apply a little bit of a freeze and help to dry off the nail polish.

We live in a society that is fast paced and results driven.  A lot of the problems discussed above are caused by our need to always be moving, which creates stressful situations.  But, remember, you are not alone!
