I love National Stationery Week. Not only does it give me the excuse to treat myself to some new stationery, I love seeing the constant stream of posts on social media of other people’s stationery collections along with stationery inspiration from brands old and new.
My desk is currently a mix of old and new, so I thought in the spirit of National Stationery Week, I would share with you what’s on my desk at the moment as I am rather liking my current collection and it certainly inspires me to sit down and do some work.
I like my desk to inspire me and always like somthing colourful, something motivational and lots and lots of different pens. My current favourite pen is the Stabilo Gel Exxx which is a very sleek erasable gel pen. It is a lovely pen to write and I am a huge fan of erasable pens. Alongside that pen is my set of four ballpoint pens from Paperchase. These pens are soft touch and again really lovely to write with and I love the cute colours. Finally, a girl needs a good set of highlighters and these highlighters from Stabilo are super cute. Stabilo Boss Mini Pastellov come in a pack of six different colours and are small enough to pop in a pencil case. They also have little pictures and messags on them and the colours are amazing.
Inspiration at the moment is courtesy of the fabulous Kikki K. I have been a huge Kikki K fan for a while now and was overjoyed to find their shop in Covent Garden last week. Inspirational stationery is a huge part of their range and I couldn’t resist My Dream Roadmap which is a pad which contains prompts to help you plan out the actions needed to achieve your dreams. It is such a simple idea but a really great way to focus on what you want to achieve, however big or small.
Also from Kikki K were the spiral paper clips which come in a jar. I love these as I use paper clips all the time and these would brighten up even the most boring of documents.
I have been on the lookout for a clipboard for a while and hadn’t found anything that inspired me. I often need to take notes during a lesson or give a student something to lean on. The A4 Pink floral lined padfolio is so much more than a clipboard as it is a folder containing a lined A4 pad and a pocket to store document inside with a clipboard on the front. I love it and I know it will get a lot of use.
I do also like to keep a pack of colouring pencils handy. They are useful for all sorts of things and I carry some with me when I’m teaching younger children as well as having some for my own kids when they need them. This Trio Thick set is from Stabilo and they are designed particularly with little hands in mind as the pencils are triangular shaped to make them easier to hold and they come in 12 great colours too.
There are a couple of things that always remain on my desk as they make me smile. Firstly, my Hello Sunshine tray, I don’t really know what it is meant to be used for, but it usually ends up holding paperclips, staples and drawing pins. It is from Sasse and Belle and it is really handy. Finally, I have a Weekly Goals rip off pad from Paperchase that a friend bought me last year. I find this really handy just to jot down my teaching comittments for the week along with appointments, so I can keep track of everything all in one place.
So that is my desk. What do you have on your desk?
Disclaimer – I was sent a few of the items featured in this post but the majority were bought by me. All opinions are my own.

I love it too being able to nose at everyone’s stationery and find new stationery shops that I hadn’t heard of before etc too 🙂
