There’s so much content out there that covers health & beauty. So much so that you easily fall into the trap of believing everything you read. As a result, you end up doing things that are supposedly good for your health/beauty, when they aren’t. If you keep making these mistakes, then you’ll never see the results you’re after.
With that in mind, here are some of the common errors I see most people make:
Popping your spots
Loads of people do this as they think it helps get rid of spots. In reality, you shouldn’t pop your spots all the time. Or, more specifically, you shouldn’t use your fingers to pop your spots. If you do this, then you just irritate the spot even more, and it will grow back with a vengeance. Also, if you touch other parts of your body with your fingers, then you’ll make more spots form! Instead, only pop them if they have big whiteheads. Then, cover your fingers with a clean tissue or wear gloves to prevent infections!
Cleaning your ears with cotton buds
Nobody wants earwax clogging up their ears. However, using a cotton bud to clean them can be very damaging. You think you’re removing the wax, but you’re just pushing it in deeper. Before you know it, you’ve caused a blockage that damages your hearing and may leave you needing hearing aids! Earwax is actually good for ear health as it removes bacteria and debris from the ear canal. It should remove itself naturally, but you can use other methods to get rid of excessive wax, just never use a cotton bud!
Using conditioner after washing yourself
I think most of us are guilty of putting conditioner on and washing while it sets. Then, we rinse it out and leave the shower. It feels efficient, but it’s actually a mistake. You see, conditioner can cause spots. So, when we rinse it out of our hair, some of it stays on our body. If you often get spots on your back, chest, or forehead, then this might be the reason why. Instead, wash with soap after you’ve rinsed the conditioner from your hair. This ensures none of it is on your body, avoiding acne.
Missing meals to lose weight
Almost everyone that’s been on a weight loss journey has made this mistake. The idea is that, by missing meals, you eat less food. In turn, you’ll lose weight. While technically true, it’s not healthy at all. You’re far better off just eating healthier meals that are lower in calories. This is where things like SlimFast are really helpful as they guide you through the process of eating low-calorie meals but still feeling nourished. Don’t starve yourself, it’s not sustainable, and you’ll harm your health.
I’ve definitely made at least a couple of these mistakes, and I’m sure you have to. It’s okay, we make mistakes to learn from them! Now, you can improve your health and beauty by avoiding some of the most common errors.
