Harry Potter and the Wizarding world played quite an important role last Christmas and as my daughter’s obsession with all things Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, it will be the same again this Christmas.
She adores the books, the films and all of the toys and merchandise that comes with them and in many ways, it makes is really easy to find a huge range of gift ideas for Wizarding World fans as there are so many amazing things to choose from.
If, like me, you have a Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts fan still to buy for this Christmas, here are a selection of some of our favourite Wizarding World gift ideas.
Stocking Fillers
LEGO Harry Potter Minifigures Season 2 (RRP £3.50 Age 3+)
Starting off with some of the smaller things that are just perfect to pop into stockings, LEGO Minifigures have made many stocking appearances in this house over the years. This year will be the turn of the Harry Potter Series 2 Minifigures. Each packet contains one minifigures character from the Harry Potter stories and what is great about these mini figures is the attention to detail. Each character comes with an accessory and a wand and of course the all important collector’s leaflet. There are 16 different characters to collect.
The characters available include Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Moaning Myrtle, Griphook, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Professor Sprout, Neville Longbottom, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Bellatrix Lestrange, Lily Potter and James Potter.
These are a great gift idea for Harry Potter fans as they come with a stand so that you can display your collection but of course they are perfect for hours of imaginative play and are a great addition to bigger Harry Potter LEGO sets too.
Harry Potter Magical Capsules (RRP £9.99 Age 3+)
We love the Harry Potter Magical Capsules and did a full review of them when they first came out earlier this year. Again, these are just perfectly sized for stockings.
Hidden inside each capsule is a character from the Harry Potter stores and there are ten to collect. The capsule, a container in the shape of the Hogwarts’ crest, contains secret packages tucked away behind easy to open doors. There are seven things to discover in each capsule; firstly you get clues, which you solve using heat and water, to the character hidden inside. There is a wand, a magical creature and accessories to unwrap before you get your character.
The unboxing experience of the Harry Potter Magical Capsules is great fun as you work your way through the packages. The majority of the packaging is paper which is great as it can go straight into the recycling. The characters themselves are super cute and with their accessories and pets, children can collect them and spend many happy hours playing with them too.
Harry Potter Mystery Wand (RRP £14.99 Age 3+)
Every good wizard or witch needs a wand. The Harry Potter Mystery Wand Assortment is such a great idea. Another blind bag product, there are nine wands to collect but it is a complete surprise. Open the packaging to see whose wand you have from Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks, Ron Weasley, Lord Voldemort, Draco Malfoy, Death Eater and Nevile Longbottom.
The wands inside are nice and heavy, really detailed and really great quality making this a very affordable way of buying wands for your Harry Potter fans. Each wand also contains a 3D bookmark of the owner of the wand.
My daughter loved this idea as she loves collecting the different character wands and with the wands being 30cm long, these are a great stocking filler idea that are really good value for money.

Hogwarts Express Draught Excluder Knitting Kit (RRP £29.99)
When I discovered that there were a range of Harry Potter Knitting kits, I was thrilled as this is the perfect thing for my daughter. She loves crafts and her grandmother has been teaching her to knit, so I knew she would love them. We were sent the Hogwarts Express Draught Excluder Knitting Kit which includes everything you need to create a really cool draught excluder.

Harry Potter Dobble (RRP £14.99 Age 6+)
Dobble has been a longstanding favourite game in this house, we love it! It is portable, easy to play and fun. Harry Potter brings all the fun of the original Dobble game but with characters and objects from the wizarding world to spot on each card.
If you are new to Dobble, it is a card game that comes in a small round tin and it contains 55 small round cards each containing 8 images relating to Harry Potter. Each card has a slightly different selection of images and the aim of the game is to put down two cards and the first person to spot two matching images on both cards, shouts out the match and they win those two cards. The winner at the end of the game is the one with the most cards.
It is a brilliant game, so quick to play, fast-paced and fun. We love it and the Harry Potter version is really great, with brightly coloured, fun images. There are also different variations of the game and it is suitable for 2 – 8 players. We highly recommend this game, it is amazing.
Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game (RRP £17. 89 Age 8+)
Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game is a new game in this house but we were instantly intrigued by the board which flips over mid play allowing you play inside and outside of Hogwarts, which we loved.
The aim of the game is the capture the magical beasts have broken loose at Hogwarts. Your job is to save everyone by recapturing the beasts as either Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger or Ginny Weasley. By collecting clues to track down the beasts inside and outside of Hogwarts.You collect cards as you go and the winner is the person who collects four cards to catch their beast.

The flipping of the board is a great idea and really adds a different dimension to the game, we really enjoyed it. It takes a little bit of setting up but the instructions are clear. It is suitable for 2 – 4 players.

Harry Potter Real Talking Sorting Hat (RRP £49.99 Age 5+)
One of the most iconic moments of the Harry Potter books and films is the moment when Harry and his friends are ‘sorted’ into houses. Thanks to the Harry Potter Real Talking Sorting Hat, you can recreate that moment for yourselves.
Turn the Sorting Hat on and place it on your head. When you press the button on the brim of the hat, the Sorting Hat comes to life and starts to talk. The voice is the same as they voice from the film and it will sort you into a house and tell you why.
This is a great fun toy, it is very realistic and it certainly made us all laugh. It is on the expensive side, but Harry Potter fans will love it and get lots of fun trying it on. The hat is quite small fitting but as you only need it on your head for a few minutes, the larger headed amongst us, held it on our heads until we had been sorted.
