If you have your heart set on a rustic wedding then you may automatically think of hiring a barn venue for your special day. Although this tends to be the most popular choice, there are a few other options out there for you. Having a rustic wedding can also be done in a standard venue that has outside areas or perhaps a woodland area. If you want nature to play a part in your theme you could ask your cake maker to add some rustic flowers or wild plants into the cake, just make sure that they are clean before! If a traditional cake isn’t your thing, you could choose to have a cheese cake instead using layers of different cheeses. This definitely has a rustic feel and is a great idea for food for the evening guests too.

There are plenty of beautiful dresses out there for you to choose from and lots of designers who create gorgeous, boho inspired dresses. You could choose to have one with a long trail or perhaps one that is made predominantly from lace which would give an elegant feel. Another way to add a touch of boho into your dress is to combine flowers or even lace flowers into the design which would create an elegant detail. This theme could also be used for the bridesmaid dresses too and they could be made from the same lace material, or have the same smaller details on them. You could also add little touches such as flowers in your hair.
Rustic decorations
When it comes to decorating your venue the options are endless, it just depends on your budget and personal taste. If you have a slightly smaller budget then you may opt to make your own decorations which would also tie in perfectly with the rustic theme. For example, instead of having a flower wall you could opt to create a wooden feature wall using wooden crates and cascading flowers.
Luckily minimalistic and natural comes to mind with a boho or rustic theme, so instead of spending lots on fancy tablecloths and chair covers, you could choose to have plain wooden tables and chairs and perhaps add a touch of elegance and detail with candles and lighting. Fairy lights are something that works really well within any venue, but especially within a barn venue. They will create a warm glow and add to the atmosphere within your venue.
