We have been planning a ‘craft morning’ for a few days now as the boys were very keen to do some painting and creating and for a change, I decided that I was going to attempt a little project too. When we received our latest box of goodies from Yellow Moon, I was rather pleased to see a bag of flower buttons.
I have a bit of an obsession with buttons and these are gorgeous. In six assorted colours and slightly different sizes, there are lots of different things that you could do with these. I decided to use them to decorate a canvas for A’s bedroom. I used an A4 sized canvas and used a pencil to draw the shape of a capital A. I then used PVA glue to stick the buttons all around the outline of the shape. I was quite pleased with the result.
I generally have a bit of an aversion to glitter glue as I have bought it in the past and it always ends up everywhere and takes ages to dry. These pens are amazing. Easy to use, with a very small hole at the top, the glue comes out easily but in small quantities, so even A didn’t make too much mess with them. The colours are nice and they do leave a really lovely sparkle effect wherever you use them.
They loved it and I was really impressed at how they both used the paints very gently and sensibly and they spent a lovely hour quietly painting away and chatting as they painted. We were also sent the Reeves Watercolour brushes too which compliment the paints really well as you have eight different brushes to use.

I really love the A in buttons, lovely craft idea. The paints and brushes are also great. Very vibrant colours, it pays to buy decent quality in those kind of things I think. 🙂
